This Halloween, I've costumed you as some of the biggest forces in the design world: Jonathan Adler, Simon Doonan, and Kelly Wearstler. But, you must also consider the queen bee homemaker herself, Martha Stewart. She may not sport a floral button-down daily like Doonan or experiment with wild tress techniques like Wearstler, but she does have a distinct style: classic and age-appropriate, always with her signature blond bob.

Just in case you're not interested in going as Jonathan Adler or Simon Doonan this Halloween, I'm also providing you with a more feminine option: Kelly Wearstler.
If you're a Top Design fan, as I am, you probably watch the show in part to check out Kelly Wearstler's kooky sartorial style. I adore her mix of high fashion with vintage finds and her daringly odd clothing combinations.

Yesterday, I showed you how your man can dress like Jonathan Adler this Halloween. Adler's wardrobe is an endless bucket of fun, so he's an ideal costume inspiration for any design fiend. But Adler's hubby Simon Doonan, creative director of Barneys New York and recent Top Design guest judge, is the go-to guy when it comes to fashion expertise, and never shows up at a party in anything less than eccentric.

If your man is in need of a design-inspired costume this Halloween, tell him to look no further than to Jonathan Adler, an influential interior designer and the man behind the internationally recognized lifestyle and home furnishings brand. While Adler never ceases to impress me with his home furnishings and interior design portfolio, he's also got some serious personal style, worthy of emulation by any design-phile. So I thought I'd show you how to get the look of JA this holiday, without rearranging your living room.

I just came across this free downloadable Halloween card from Inside a Black Apple, and it got me thinking. Many of us send Christmas cards sharing family photos, and in grade school we all exchanged Valentine's cards. And, of course, birthday cards are a given.

Last year I dressed as Bjork in her infamous swan dress for Halloween, so I didn't require gory, gooey props. And, as usual, my Halloween costume will likely come together last minute. But, if any of you are in the need for some slime for your get-up this year, I have a simple fake slime (or snot) recipe for you.

You might not be the type to go all out this Halloween with cobwebs, fog machines, and yard decorations that heckle at passersby. But you can still be festive with a simple yet darkly gothic wreath. Wreaths are the ultimate non-decoration for any festivity; they're not fussy or complicated but they do give your front door some holiday curb appeal.
