When I happened upon photographs of Annika Borg's beautiful home in Skona Hem, I was bewitched by her use of color and pattern, as well as her bold mix of style. This is a home that is infinitely livable, and while it's beautiful, you can tell that Annika doesn't take herself too seriously — in the best possible way.
In particular, I adore this colorful, feminine, and fun study.

The CW's new drama series Life Unexpected is a bit of a guilty pleasure, in part because I'm really loving Cate Cassidy's home. She lives in a cute Craftsman-style house which she's decorated in a mostly traditional style with a calm palette that's really quaint. In last week's episode, Cate turned her attic into a bedroom for her daughter Lux, who'd recently come into her life after being in foster care since birth.

Bloomingdale's is hosting a design contest between three interior designers in the windows of its flagship store in NYC, and one of them happens to be my friend Eddie Ross, who is representing Elle Decor. I'm absolutely in love with the space he created. The concept was designed for a media mogul and mother of two, who has a passion for antiques and art — very Lipstick Jungle .

It's funny to me that Spoon's latest album of understated pop arrives packaged in very overstated décor. The record cover art of Transference, with a boy (a young Britt Daniel?) seemingly trapped in his parents' formal '60s living room, is beyond brilliant. From the excessively animated curtain sheers and draping jacquard valances to the ornate tufted cantaloupe-colored armchair to the oceanic seafoam walls and floors, this style of decorating is just so over the top.

Last night the CW premiered a new Juno-meets-Gilmore-Girls-esque drama series, Life Unexpected, about a foster child who's reunited with her birth parents. It seems like it'll be a tearjerker for sure, but somewhere amidst the troubled coming-of-age plot, I was impressed by some chic, grown-up décor. Check out this slideshow to get the look.

As usual, the contestants on season seven of Project Runway are treated to some very stylin' digs when they're not slaving away at the sewing machine. This season, they return to luxury rental building Atlas New York, which has been made quite visually arresting by the show's production designer. Some TV and movie sets — like Carrie Bradshaw's apartment — aren't very easy to recreate because they're furnished with pricey, borrowed, or one-of-a-kind items.

If you were able to catch Leap Year in theaters, you know it's all about the romance that happens between Amy Adams and Matthew Goode's characters along the way — to Dublin, where Adams's character plans to propose to her boyfriend. But it wasn't just the sparks flying that I noticed; there was plenty of chic, understated décor spattered throughout the film, too. Come see how you can get the look of Leap Year in your home.

In Canadian House and Home's annual trend roundup, "Tailored Gypsy" was identified as one of its hot looks for 2010.
While bohemian style has been a mainstay in the interior design world for years now, this latest incarnation sees the boho look lose its scruff, and go for a more polished presentation. Mixing bold artwork, hand-dyed textiles, eclectic accents, and more traditional larger pieces of furniture, this look is a definite pleaser.
