These Wayfair Nightstands Tick All of My Boxes: Practical, Space-Saving, and Affordable

It's no secret that TikTok is a seriously great destination for finding new product inspiration and shopping out trending items — as evidenced by our love for things like CHI's cult-favorite rotating curler or even the newly debuted (and already viral!) satin pajama set from Target. As someone who lives in a smaller apartment space, I was delighted to find that these nightstands checked all of my (admittedly picky) boxes in terms of what I was looking for in new bedroom furniture: they're functional, space-saving, storage-friendly, and stylish enough to elevate the look and feel of my home with a more modern flair. The under-$150 price point was also a huge selling point, and for a limited time, the nightstands are even cheaper; they're currently on sale at Wayfair's major Way Day event. Ahead, I break down what exactly makes these midcentury-style pieces so great — and why they'd make the ultimate addition to anyone's bedroom setup.

The biggest appeal of these nightstands for me is the fact that they're durable and have a high-quality build, but they are also still relatively affordable in price. When I had first started searching for nightstands to add to my bedroom setup, I was surprised by how costly some models were — particularly those made from long-lasting materials like wood, metal, or steel. Fortunately, these nightstands proved to be the exception and even came in a more cost-efficient set, so I didn't have to worry about placing two separate orders — one purchase gave me a table for both sides of my bed, which is a bonus for fans of symmetrical design schemes.

I also appreciated just how easy these nightstands were to build. The shipment came with detailed instructions on how to build the nightstands by hand, as well as all of the tools necessary to take care of the job right away. I built both models entirely by myself, and I was finished probably within the span of about 40 minutes total (20 minutes per nightstand). I was weary that building these might take longer or require an extra hand, as some of my previous orders from Wayfair have been less specific with instructions, but the building process for these nightstands turned out to be refreshingly simple. I also love that I was immediately able to situate them as fixtures within my room.

Some reviewers have noted that these nightstands are a bit more unstable than they were anticipating and have noticed that the pieces have a tendency to wobble. Unlike other nightstands, this model has longer steel legs at the bottom that help to give the table height, and therefore they have a less heavy base that might otherwise ground the pieces. While I personally haven't found these nightstands to feel too wobbly, my hardwood floors are less slippery or unstable compared to tile, and might be a better surface for these pieces. Both of the nightstands are also fitted with footpads, which help to ensure that the furniture doesn't scrape up or damage floors. In my experience, I've felt perfectly comfortable placing larger items like table lamps or books on top of the nightstands without fear of them getting knocked off. All this to say, it's worth reading through other reviews and making your own assessment based on your home.

If you're limited on space in your bedroom but still want some sort of practical bedside table, this nightstand set is the perfect happy medium, as both pieces are functional enough to provide plenty of bedside space, but also compact enough that they won't feel too bulky or overwhelming in your home. While my apartment is spacious, my bedroom can definitely start to feel overly cluttered with furniture if I'm not careful. Fortunately, these nightstands are designed to feel smaller than your typical nightstand. They also have a practical storage drawer that's great for concealing items I might not want taking up any unnecessary space (like remotes or my nighttime lotions), and the open shelf provides additional room for storage or fun decor. What's not to love?
