Best Rumor Ever: Target Is Opening Its First In-Store Bar

For a new store in Chicago, Target has applied for two city liquor licenses: one to sell wine, beer, and spirits and another to serve alcohol on site. While Chicago Business is speculating that Target may have plans to open its first in-store bar, Target reps have declined to comment until tomorrow. Since the new location will include an in-store Starbucks, we're apt to think that the coffee chain wants to serve its new evening menu, which includes beer and wine. At any rate, perusing the often-crowded aisles would be much more tolerable after a drink or two . . . here's hoping the license is approved!
