This Flapper-Style Bar Is Going to Change the "Disney Without Kids" Game

I'm a strong believer that while Disney vacations are famously fun for families, they're just as great — in many cases, even preferable! — when you're an adult visiting the parks without any kids in tow. I affectionately call this the D.W.O.K. ("Disney Without Kids") experience, and it's about to become even better thanks to a newly opened establishment at Florida's Disney Springs. The Edison, a Walt Disney World-adjacent restaurant by day and 21+ speakeasy by night, will call your name with the promise of good food, stiff drinks, and a whole lot of fun.

Whether you're in search of comfort food, like hearty bacon, or a few fingers of bourbon while you're on a lunch break from the parks, The Edison is your answer. The massive establishment opened with a bang in early 2018, and its nighttime transformation into a Roaring '20s speakeasy keeps adult Disney fans coming back. Every night at 9:30 p.m., The Edison welcomes live entertainment like burlesque dancers, jazz bands, and flapper groups — and there's an evening dress code that prompts some visitors to channel their inner Gatsby or Daisy.

Check out some peeks behind the speakeasy doors, and you'll find yourself ready to start dancing The Charleston during your next Disney World trip. And bonus: you don't even need a park ticket to enjoy The Edison, as Disney Springs is open to the public! We'll take two Manhattans and a cake pop tree, please, because this is something worth celebrating.

When in Disney Springs, it's hard to miss The Edison.

Inside, the restaurant is a mix between a '20s speakeasy and Thomas Edison's workshop.

There's even a mural celebrating the discovery of the lightbulb!

On The Edison's menu, you can find things like "Clothesline Candied Bacon."

The restaurant's milkshakes are served in large lab beakers.

And cake pops are served on their own "tree."

This "Bloody Frenchman" is a popular cocktail choice.

Outside, there's a massive hot air balloon attracting new visitors to the bar.

And with such a massive space inside, there's plenty of room for more.

Every night, The Edison transforms into an adults-only speakeasy with burlesque dancers and flappers.

The inside of the restaurant takes on a whole new light.

Now, who's ready to dance their way to Disney Springs?
