Jonathan Adler and Simon Doonan opened the doors to their New York duplex in the new issue of Adweek. The respective design mogul and Barneys creative ambassador-at-large, married since 2008, have decorated their home in their trademark colorful, pop style; Jonathan told Adweek that he describes his aesthetic as "Modern American Glamour."

"I make many thousands of products, and not only do I enjoy bringing them into my house, I just feel it's my responsibility to road test them," Jonathan said. A number of his products are in evidence in the accompanying shoot, including rugs, lamps, and decorative objects.

Color and pattern are used expertly throughout the home. Rich, royal-looking purples and greens live side by side in the den, while the dining room is a study in midcentury elegance. No surface goes unadorned in the Adler and Doonan household.

Jonathan is known for bringing a playful vibe to his work, and he recently shared the secrets to decorating a happy home with POPSUGAR Home. His design work has, in fact, brought joy to one very important person: his husband.

"It's like living with a hairdresser — you get your hair done for free. I come home and there's new couches," Simon said. "What's not to love?"

Two blue Barcelona lamps ($585) flank a table in Simon and Jonathan's den. A number of objects, including the Brass Finger Coat Hook ($148), adorn a marble coffee table.
