Celebrity style isn't restricted to the red carpet. The best dressed stars are often the ones who inhabit the most beautiful homes, which are regularly put on display in magazine spreads and via social media. It's not unusual to feel a twinge of envy when peeking inside these celebrity homes.

But instead of feeling defeated, it's possible to bring some of that Hollywood glamour into your own home no matter where you live. Enter celebrity stylist and interior designer Estee Stanley, who has helped decorate homes belonging to Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel, Patrick Dempsey, and Lea Michele. Estee and Justin even collaborated on HomeMint, their former home decor business.

Now, Estee's partered up with Marshalls and is on a mission to help inspire confidence in those who are unsure about how to begin decorating their own homes. "I think Los Angeles and Hollywood style is very laid back, easy, and casual but very sexy," Estee says. It's also not hard to replicate. Now, Estee's offering tips on how to nail the chic West Coast style she offers her famous clients, but without breaking the bank.

Hang High Drapes

Hang High Drapes

One simple and inexpensive way to add drama to a space is through the addition of drapes. "A lot of people forget about drapes," Estee says. "They do sometimes cost a lot of money, and I think a lot of people don’t know how to do drapes properly." Estee advises hanging drapes as high and wide as possible, ideally two inches below the ceiling and 10 inches to the left and right of the window. The higher and wider drapes are hung, the bigger the room feels.

Remember Hardware

Remember Hardware

"Another easy fix I feel like, especially if you’re buying a house and you don’t have a lot of money to spend, is changing out door hardware," Estee advises. Since knobs, knockers, and hinges are something homeowners and renters see every day, focusing on those small and often-forgotten details is really important. This applies to interior and exterior doors, as well as cabinets.

Add Accent Pieces

Add Accent Pieces

Add polish to your home by bringing in new, inexpensive accent pieces like frames, pillows, and throws. Estee believes in changing these accessories throughout the year, if so inclined. It's the "little things that really play into who you are and what you want people to see in your home" that make a big impression, she says.

Don't Forget Ornate Mirrors

Don't Forget Ornate Mirrors

Never underestimate the power of a statement mirror. “I’ll use antique mirrors, which to me is very Hollywood and glamorous,” Estee contends. She believes in adding gilt and shine to any room in the home, including the bathroom.

05
Incorporate Natural Elements

Incorporate Natural Elements

Natural elements like wood and stone are a key component of a quintessentially California and Hollywood look. "Natural elements always add a hip and airy vibe to any room," Estee says. Various woods, especially anything reclaimed, "make everything feel cozier and homier."

Add Flowers

Add Flowers

Visit your local farmers market and make a habit of bringing fresh flowers into your home. "Flowers," Estee says, "change the whole vibe of your house." If you’re like Estee’s client Jessica Biel, you can grow your own flowers in your backyard garden.

Follow Your Passion

Follow Your Passion

Remember, above all, your home is just that: yours. Tap into your inner confidence to give pride of place to the items, colors, and styles that you love. "Your home has to be like your cocoon, your place where you can be yourself, where you can feel calm and happy," Estee says. "You should design your home to be a reflection of your personality. Never hold back."
