Amazon's Latest Launch Is Giving Etsy a Run For Its Money

Is there anything you can't buy on Amazon? Not after today. The mega online retailer just launched Handmade at Amazon, extending its offerings to include genuine handcrafted goods (read: factory-free, one-of-a-kind) sourced from artisans all over the world. The service will even allow you to narrow your search by location, so you can search for a tea towel from Brooklyn or earrings made in Uganda. While you can't actually meet the artisan in person, you can get to know him or her through a photo and Artisan Profile, which includes the seller's story, workspace, process, and inspiration. Basically you can scour the world for unique goods without ever leaving your sofa and all while enjoying the benefits of Amazon, such as product recommendations and that holy grail of online shopping: free 2-day shipping for the more than 600 Handmade at Amazon Prime eligible items.
