If you love the look of wood, but want something that's a little more refined, check out the jewel-like bevels on this West Elm Beveled Side Table (originally $199, now $99.99). The angular ends on the solid acacia wood add an elegant look to these tables, though they'd work equally well as stools, too. In fact, they're so versatile they could easily be used for plant stands, stacks of books, a place to rest your feet while lounging in a living room .

Hi CasaSugar,
My boyfriend and I are moving into a small one bedroom, but luckily the living room is quite spacious. As children of the digital age, we always have our laptops out for work or school. Is there some sort of space-saving desk that allows for two workstations at a time?

Not only can Lady GaGa craft an infectious dance tune, but she can also successfully pull off some crazy outfits. Inspired by her bold take on fashion, I decided to see if I could match up her looks with some equally inspired home items. To see what I found, check out the slideshow.

West Elm is a relatively affordable store, sort of the midpoint between ultra-affordable stores like Ikea and pricier ones like Williams-Sonoma Home and Pottery Barn. It's also full of great modern design, which unless you're shopping at Ikea, is hard to come by at an affordable price. But West Elm items like this Angled-Leg Coffee Table ($299) are still out of reach for many, or simply not sensible if you're a student or in transition.

These Zinnia Pillow Covers (originally $39, on sale for $9.99) are as easy on the eyes as the flowers they're named after. With embroidered blossoms on cotton covers, these pillows will bring a pop of color and pattern to your sofa. While I'm a fan of the gray and yellow variety, the blue pillows are the only ones still available, but at over 70 percent off, who's complaining?

The key to a stylish home office is finding furniture that doesn't look too severe. The only thing severe about this West Elm Wide Two-Drawer File Cabinet (below left) is that it's severely stylish and severely on sale: $200, reduced from $430. It comes in darker chocolate finish or lighter acorn, and I love the way the "handles" at the top and bottom of the drawers look like a design element.

Even though this chair and its cushions are weather-resistant, I'm in favor of placing the west elm Square Metal Armchair (on sale for $99.99, marked down from $169) indoors. I love how its powder-coated metallic frame would add masculine definition to a space, especially one full of feminine curves. Try pairing it with a Moroccan-inspired drum table and some luxe pillows to make the whole look work.
