Twenty-three-year-old Giorgia Boscolo, the daughter of a gondolier, has become the first woman to officially "man" the banana-shaped boats. The word for female gondolier — gondoliera — didn't even exist before Giorgia passed the rigorous qualifying exams.

Mena Suvari is selling her 2,442-square-foot, 3-bedroom, 2-bath in Venice, California for $1,795,000, according to Real Estalker. The beautiful craftsman property went into contract a mere 45 days after it was first listed — record time! Suvari purchased the property in June 2005, shortly after her marriage with cinematographer Robert Brinkmann went south.

She posed in a polka dot dress for the photocall with costar Nicolas Cage and director Werner Herzog, before changing into a black number for the premiere, where she was joined by Paris Hilton and Dough Reinhardt plus Melanie Brown and Stephen Belafonte, who produced the film. Mel had a fab time in Italy, saying: "Venice is so romantic, I've loved every minute of it!"
