Nicolas Cage has said, "There's a very fine line between Method actor and schizophrenic." In Werner Herzog's Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans, he teeters that line maniacally, with an ever-increasing slur and crooked swagger. Cage plays Terence McDonagh, a detective in post-Katrina New Orleans investigating a drug-related murder and his personal threshold for cocaine and heroin.

Dressed in funky shades and blue suede shoes, Robbie Williams met up yet again with Gary Barlow yesterday, as they were both spotted heading into Electric Lady Studios in New York City. Although Robbie missed out on the Take That boys' night out earlier in the week, his daytime meetings are continuing to feed to rumours that the lads are likely to reunite. A GMTV reporter confronted Robbie about the rumours as he made his way into the studio, and Robbie joked that they're "thinking of entering the first five-man bobsleigh team for the UK".

Disney received an early present this year: The revamped version of the classic tale A Christmas Carol took the top spot at the box office in its opening weekend with $31 million. While that figure is on the low end of studio estimates for the film, insiders hope that it will continue to gain more movie-goers as we near the holidays. Following behind at No.

I spotted this Black Zigzag Lamp ($185) at Emilia Ceramics, a San Francisco-based ceramic import shop, and felt a revived love for chevron patterns. The contemporary lamp is handmade by Mexican pottery studio Talavera Vázquez in the city of Dolores Hidalgo. I've been drooling over Madeline Weinrib's cotton flatweave zigzag rug ever since I saw it, but aside from that, I've never felt much affinity for chevron/zigzag patterns.

When I moved to San Francisco, I instantly became hooked on a popular show called MythBusters. Now in its seventh season, the show is filmed right here in the city (bigger stunts are filmed in the Bay Area) and is hosted by the original MythBusters themselves — Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage. By using scientific technique and incorporating carefully-planned stunts, props, special effects (which usually involves something being blown up) and other elements into the show, the entire team — which also includes Tory Belleci , Grant Imahara and Kari Byron — investigates myths or "urban legends" to see whether they are "busted," "plausible," or "confirmed."
