Despite the fact that much of it conjures memories of school fair spin art, 223 lots of work by Damien Hirst grossed a record $200 million at a Sotheby's auction in London this week. Perhaps you agree with Andy Warhol, who said, "Art is what you can get away with." In that case, you'd snatch up Hirst's spin art in a heartbeat (if you had the dough).

A controversial new study hints it may be possible to look at a room and figure out how that room's inhabitant is voting. Set to be published in the Journal of Political Psychology the study asserts that empty pizza box is "behavioral residue" that points to "distinct cognitive inclinations" that sends liberals in the direction of ambiguity and intellectualism, and spins conservatives toward order. These inclinations "drive the way one leads one's life and displays one's life in their living and work spaces," says one of the study's authors.

Thursday morning, I was enlightened. Since Yves Saint Laurent's death this past Summer, the fashion world has been paying tribute and speaking praise. Perhaps one of the best ways to do both is to showcase an extensive collection of the artist's work.

I am always looking for a new way to exercise and keep myself healthy. I've always thought about trying martial arts, partly to learn self-defense skills, but more for the mind and body strengthening aspect.
There are many styles including Stand-Up, Ground Fighting, Throwing, and Meditative.

Following her induction into the Order Of Arts And Letters, Kylie Minogue kicked off her KYLIEX2008 tour in spectacular style last night in Paris. Jean Paul Gaultier designed costumes for the tour, and although Ms Minogue looks absolutely stunning (and is showing the watching Olivier Martinez what he's missing) I do feel a little sorry for those backing dancers with their black hoods obscuring their faces.
There are already videos of her rehearsals and spectacular show online so if you didn't manage to get a ticket for the show you can get an idea of the scale of her tour.
