Growing up, we used my dad's tractor to plow the snow out of our long driveway. We still had to shovel out paths, porches, and decks, but I was glad that the driveway was taken care of by other means. Other folks have to rely solely on shovel power.

When a big storm comes though, staying off the roads inherently cuts back on gasoline use. But using a gasoline-powered snow blower or other snow removal product to clear the snow from your driveway and walkway will also emit greenhouse gases. So, instead, use an electric-powered one.

If you live in a snowy climate, chances are that you'll spend a good amount of time each week shoveling your front walk, which is actually a good form of exercise. Most cities also require that residents keep the sidewalks in front of their property free of snow and ice. Do you shovel at your home?

It's still 52°F here in San Francisco, but other parts of the country have already gotten over a foot of snow this Winter. Personally, I always preferred to shovel the snow rather than pick at the ice on my walkway. But others would prefer to hire someone to do it altogether.

It's an amazing feeling, looking out your window in the morning and realizing that snow has been gently falling while you were in dreamland. It's crisp and pure and beautiful.
But then reality sets in and you realize that you have to dig your car out of its snow-cocoon so you can get yourself to work.

He's dressed up and in character to promote Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps, though the movie's planned April release was postponed until September so it can premiere at Cannes in May. It's still sweet to hear him glow about girlfriend Carey Mulligan but also open up about his infamous car accident and the wild side of the financial world.
