Vertical gardens are a great choice for those of you who are space-conscious. But, unless you want to pony up for a Living Wall system or the like, they can be complicated and costly to build on your own. So, I was pleased to find a vertical garden made using an over-the-door shoe organizer on Instructables.

TeamSugar member SweetPeasMom shared a great tip for making your guests feel right at home involving an over-the-door shoe organizer, which she repurposed. She says:
I hang an over-the-door shoe organizer on the back of the door of our guest room. In each of the different clear pockets I may include the following: a map of the local area, sun lotion, soaps and shampoos (usually the free hotel ones or samples), note cards, a good paperback book (with a note saying to take it with them if they haven't finished), candies, a flashlight, a variety of medications and personal items, a couple of stamps, postcards from the surrounding area, etc.

Every time I open up my closet door, I feel a little twinge of guilt. My precious shoe collection, that is most likely worth more than my wardrobe, is strewn haphazardly all over the floor! Every morning I tell myself I need to be more responsible and every once in a while I do get inspired, I put the fragile ones in their boxes, I line them all up nicely on the floor, but soon enough they are a mess again.

If you're sitting pretty like Blair Waldorf, your designer stilettos are neatly stacked in your custom closet. But, if you're more like Yours Truly, your ballet flats are piled up like Legos and plastic trucks in a kid's toy box.Source
How Do You Store Your Shoes?
Neatly on my custom closet shelves!

Everyone's jumping on the eco-bandwagon, including some of your child's favorite brands. Before sending your kids back to school, outfit them in eco-friendly organic gear that will keep them looking great while spreading a green message. Among our favorite selections for Fall are:
- All Asics sneakers are PVC-free, using bamboo, canvas, and leather to create its durable shoes for boys and girls.
- Simple Shoes' PVC-free kicks are primarily made from bamboo, cotton, hemp, and recycled rubber.
- Maggie's Organics Tights come in a variety of colors and patterns to coordinate with a lil girl's wardrobe and are made from organic cotton.
- No child's wardrobe is complete without several pairs of jeans, and Love Is Organic jeans use fair-trade practices to create its organic denim pants.

The entry is such a massive multitasker. It has to provide room for storage, mail, putting on shoes, hanging jackets, and placing keys. It also often functions as a gallery space.
