It's safe to say that most of you buy albums for the tunes, but cover art is a whole other beast in itself, and believe it or not, a lot of time and energy is spent to make it right. So, if there's an album cover that strikes your fancy, I give you permission to pull its spine out from the rows of records on your bookcase and let it shine. Album covers make easy art and look much more precious if you display them in a Lucite album box.

I recently spotted this very cool sculpture, made from old record albums, on Make magazine's website. Titled "Sound Wave," artist Jean Shin melted and manipulated records to form this wave. I love the use of recycling in this sculpture, as well as the punny title.

If you're decorating a masculine bedroom or a hipster dude haven, or if you just want to show off your taste for rock 'n roll, add a set of Recycled Album Jacket Coasters and a Vinyl LP Bowl ($29) to your home.
Etsy seller Inoudid's Attic is repurposing her husband's vintage vinyl record album collection into these one-of-a-kind coaster and bowl sets (side note: my husband would never forgive me if I started deconstructing his vinyl collection). Each set has nine coasters, made by laminating the album jacket to a piece of Baltic birch plywood.

September was a big month for The Beatles in the gaming world when The Beatles Rock Band hit the market. I went crazy over it during a sneak peek at E3, and was not disappointed when I got my own copy. Although The Beatles have not always been so chummy with tech, times are a-changing as Sgt.

A few lucky fans will also get the chance to win tickets to see the event live and in person from the UK!

Don't worry, these pics are from the set of a music video — no doggies were actually harmed! Songstress Alicia Keys, recorded "Try Sleeping With a Broken Heart" featuring this furry scene from her upcoming fourth album on Friday.
The pooch sports a couple collars with a super-chunky, braided-orange one on top — Get a similar, slimmer styles in tangerine (chocolate, white or aqua) from Wagwear for $22 and a matching leash ($34), too.

Adam Lambert was up early today to debut his new single on Ryan Seacrest's radio show. We've all been anxiously waiting to hear what Adam comes up with since his second place win on American Idol, and "For Your Entertainment" is heavy on the pop but light on his signature rock and roll style. His album cover might give us some insight as to what we can expect from the rest of his record, so check out the song and tell us — does this make you want to hit the dance floor or leave the club?

McFly played in the Soccer Six this weekend (as well as Pete Doherty) and managed to get to the semi-finals before being knocked out. Hard luck, lads. The boys were probably a little tired after playing a 90 minute set at Aintree race course on Friday night.

There has been a rumor circulating for a couple of weeks that Halle Berry will release a record sometime early this year. Apparently she told Ebony magazine: "I've always loved to sing and my album will show people that I can do more than act." There have even been reports that Halle's self-titled debut album was originally due to be released on January 9, but her hectic filming schedule has pushed the date back to February 6.
