Do You Agree With This Week's Project Runway Winner and Loser?

The competition on Project Runway is getting really good, meaning we're narrowing it down to the nitty and gritty and separating the great designers from the mediocre. This week, a challenge inspired by the elements was an examination of the contenders flying under the radar. While one of these such designers was noticed in a big way and rewarded with a win, another who'd continued to slide in was eliminated.

While I loved the winning ensemble, I didn't exactly agree with the judges on the losing look. I mean, it was pretty awkward, but I don't know if it was really worse than the other outfit in the bottom two (a Lady Gaga-esque disaster). What did you think?

Fab Exclusive! Project Runway's Jay Talks About Second Win and Why Nina's Opinion Matters Most

Jay Nicolas Sario is proving to be quite the competitor on Project Runway. Last night, San Francisco's own had his second victory for the Hard Wear challenge. Do you agree with the winner and loser? His first win proved he's legit, and now he's further solidified his place in the competition. We had a quick chat with the designer about why he chose a garbage bag, which judge's approval he seeks most, and who his biggest competition is.

Why did you choose garbage bags over anything else?

I chose the garbage bags for no reason. All the designers were not able to sketch a design concept before going to the hardware store, so it was challenging to pick items that I had no idea what to make of. I was not in favor of the garbage bags in the beginning due to the fact that it can almost be used as a fabric, and this was a challenge that pertained to "innovation," but I still kept them just in case. My design organically came together as I worked with the materials I found and that includes a drywall self-adhesive mesh tape that I utilized to give the garbage bags structure and leather like texture. As a finishing touch, I used Gapers tape to add color onto the entire look.

In your opinion, who are the strongest competitors?

Seth Aaron’s ability to consistently convey his strong point of view is threatening. He came to compete knowing what he’s made of, versus someone like me who’s still trying to identity his aesthetic as a designer. But I do feel that I have an advantage due to the sense of surprise I bring to the table each week. There’s also Emilio, who can construct a garment beautifully. But I do question his taste, and that's something I have already established and the judges recognize my sophisticated taste.

What did you think of Emilio’s design?

Emilio’s design looked like a $1.50 stripper outfit, and I thought he bought his materials from the adult store that’s literally next to the hardware store. The concept was theatrical but it looked low budget. If he had more metal washers, he would have accomplished his original design intent.

Which has been the toughest challenge yet?

The red dress challenge kicked my ass. Not only was I limited to the color red but a woman with real vital statistics. I’m talking about 40-30-39. I had no choice but to fully embrace my model's figure. I was happy in the end and at the same time wondered why I was not in the top three.

And most exciting?

The Marie Claire challenge was the most coveted of all challenges. Everyone wanted to win this challenge due to the attached price. I made a dress that moved beautifully and a lot of women who are getting married have actually been asking me to remake the dress for their wedding so it’s exciting!

Whose approval do you seek most from the judges?

Nina’s approval matters the most out of all the judges. The more Nina likes me, the better chances I have of winning the competition because, at the end of the day, she gets to chose who she wants to feature in her magazine.

Wow! Season seven of Project Runway really amped it up this week, with a challenge that was a real challenge - so much so that the frontrunners panicked when they heard what it was and again when they were creating their looks.

Sending the designers to the hardware store was inspired, but the designers were less so. Seeing everyone struggle with their outfits and accessories made me appreciate the winner all the more, along with a couple of other looks that didn't win. The loser, however, did deserve to go home, but the contestants in the bottom were all really pretty sad. Did you think the judges awarded the right person - and sent the right one packing?

Mommy and Me Designs Straight Off Project Runway

The "mommy and me" matching clothing look has a dedicated following in some circles. Pint-sized versions of grown up clothes can make a lil one feel sophisticated while allowing mama to dress her daughter in clothes that truly reflect her style. On last night's Project Runway, the designers were tasked with creating looks for little girls – a challenge that sent some contestants into a tizzy. Throwing a last-minute twist into the episode, Tim Gunn then told the designers to create complementary outfits for the girls' mothers. Take a look at the designs and tell me which you like best. Do You Agree With This Week's Project Runway Winner and Loser?

This week's Project Runway threw me for a loop: it began as a challenge to create a children's look, but halfway through the episode, the designers were tasked with creating a grown-up companion look. It made things infinitely more interesting (though I was quite entertained by the banter of the kids and Anthony).

As for the outcome, I agreed heartily with the winner (such cute and well-made looks!), though I'd say the loser was a bit more controversial. Cumulatively, the designer who got sent home definitely deserved the boot for a poor showing throughout, but considering another design was called "bizarre," "hideous," and "weird," I was a little surprised. What did you think?

Heidi Resumes Her Role on the Runway

Are You Happy With Project Runway's Winning Look?

The latest Project Runway challenge was one of the biggest in its history, in terms of the reward and pressure. The designers were asked to create a cover look for Marie Claire's April issue. And the cover model? Heidi Klum! As you can imagine, the work room turned completely quiet as the contestants worked nonstop to finish their magazine-worthy looks. Most did good, a couple drowned, but funny guy Anthony took the crown for his punchy one-shouldered blue minidress. All the judges, including guest judge and editor of the magazine Joanna Coles, loved it. Did you?
