The most affordable mirrored lattice coffee table!

As most of you know, I have another blog called A Sweet Concoction. I haven't updated in a while since I've been focusing most of my free time on this blog! That was my first blog and I'm still very much attached to it. I offered DIY interior decorating tips that anybody can do! One of my favorite entries was this bathroom makeover. I have decided for now to only update this blog regularly, but will also offer interior decorating tips as well! I want to say upfront that I do not have ANY experience in design. It's something I do for fun and that I enjoy very much! I think style and design go hand in hand so hopefully my tips will inspire some of you!

With that said, this entry is a perfect example of how I like to decorate. I try to look at pieces that I already own and "upgrade" them some how to create something new and improved. I quickly fell in love with this lattice mirror that I found at Home Goods for $99. I originally bought this for my old bedroom but decided to go out on the limb and make a mirrored coffee table out of it! It fit perfectly onto my coffee table that I bought to Philadelphia. It was a match made in heaven.

Roundup: Mirrored Cocktail Tables

I was taking a look at some set photos of Melrose Place and noticed this showstopping clover-shaped mirrored cocktail table. It was from Horchow/Neiman Marcus, but it doesn't look like it's available any longer - to be honest, this whole room looks like it could have been furnished by Horchow. Anyway, you know how I love mirrored furniture, so it's no surprise that this caught my eye. But seeing it makes me think if you're going to go for the glitzy trend, you may as well show it off to your cocktail party guests. Nice and New: west elm Mirror Coffee Table

Remember the mirrored furniture trend that I alerted you to in August? Well, the trend is still in, and west elm has just come out with a chic mirror coffee table ($449), so your living room can be dressed in the latest fashion. The table is pretty similar in shape to their popular Parsons table as well. They're calling it, "Something for hors d'oeuvres, drinks, and holiday décor to reflect on." What could be better?

Steal of the Day: Pier 1 Mirrored Two-Tier Console Table

I often forget about Pier 1 because it doesn't do e-commerce, and there isn't a store very close to me. But that's not to say the retailer doesn't have a great selection - and great bargains. This Mirrored Two-Tier Console Table ($79.98, reduced from $149.95) is completely chic and versatile, and such a great deal. It has antiqued brass legs and antique mirrors with reverse etching details. Were you to buy an original in an antique store, it could cost you $900, but why put yourself through that pain? Accent tables such as this aren't something you need to invest in; you should spend your big bucks on larger pieces like sofas, dining tables, and armoires. Got a Pier 1 near you? What are you waiting for?

Cool Idea: Mirrored Ping-Pong Table

You know how I love mirrored furniture, so it should come as no surprise that this mirrored Ping-Pong table caught my eye. To celebrate the kickoff of the "Reflection" exhibit by Argentinian artist Rirkrit Tiravanija at the Nyehaus gallery in New York, this regulation-size Ping-Pong table was made entirely of mirrors.The opening night featured an invitational table tennis tournament, and gallery visitors can take lessons with Ping-Pong champion Ernesto Ebuen at the table for $70-100 until the exhibit ends this Saturday. I'm not a Ping-Pong titleholder or anything, but I do love love love this table. It just makes me laugh, and would be a fun piece to have in a well-manicured backyard. It also would be quite cheeky to have a Ping-Pong dinner table, wouldn't it? I'm thinking, I'm thinking . . .

Do You Have a Vanity Table?

When I was a little girl, I dreamed about having a vanity table on which to keep my jewelry, makeup, and perfume. It seemed like such a glamorous addition to a bedroom. Of course, a pretty mirror to check my reflection in was needed as well, and it wouldn't hurt to have a fab, feminine chair. In fact, now that I think about it, this image, from interior stylist Lucyina Moodie's portfolio, pretty much illustrates my girlhood dream.

Melanie, of the fabulous Etsy shop Plum Cushion, lives in a seriously stylish 1941 Cape Cod in Seattle. The bones of her home are nice, but it's her cool palette and ability to modernize vintage pieces that really make it hip. One of my favorite elements was how she painted her Rococo sconces and mirror and her Chinoiserie console table to match the blue of her walls. Obviously, each piece has an ornate shape that could really stand out if painted in a contrasting color. But they're all so shapely, it would be too busy and competitive if that were the case. Painted to match the walls, her accessories pop and make you give the quaint corner a second look.

Steal of the Day: Chiasso Glam Table Lamp

My man wouldn't allow the Chiasso Glam Table Lamp ($88, reduced from $198) within 100 yards of our home, so I'm hoping one of you can take it home instead. Cohabitation sometimes requires sacrificing the super-femme furnishings that I love, but knowing that I can decorate vicariously through you makes it all OK. This sparkling, disco-chic mirror has a playful shine that makes me glad I wound up with a pair of X chromosomes. It's not understated in any way, shape, or form, but I think we all need a little extravagance in our lives. And it helps when we can get that extravagance on sale! I know this lamp is not everyone's style, but you know how I love anything covered in mirrors . . .

Crave Worthy: Symi Tray Coffee Table

If you want to get your hands on this elegant table as much as I do, read more and start saving! The Rian Rae Symi Tray Coffee Table ($2,145) is, to say the least, a little out of my price range. But a girl can dream, right? The 36-inch diameter table, which features a round mirror top and a folding base, is made of hand-forged wrought iron and plated in reflective nickel. Maybe channeling Narcissus isn't such a bad idea, after all . . .

Assisted Living: Where to Find Affordable Mirrored Furniture

CasaSugar Community member SLDIZZ of the Assisted Living group is looking for some cheap ($250 or less) mirrored furniture (side tables/chests). "I am obsessed with some Horchow pieces," she says, like this Claudia Mirrored Chest ($719), but they are still way over her budget.

SLDIZZ, you've come to the right place! I'm a diehard mirrored furniture fan, and like you, I can't bring myself to splurge on Horchow's pieces. To see some great resources for affordable mirrored furniture, read more.

Pier 1's Hayworth Collection includes a mirrored chest, nightstand, vanity and mirror, vanity bench, jewelry armoire, lingerie chest, bedside chest, headboard, and footboard, which are all on sale ranging from $80 to $600. Very affordable, but they look expensive to me! The Hayworth Nightstand ($180) will probably suit your purposes well.
Target is also a great resource for mirrored furniture. The website is tricky though, because some items are listed as "glass," not mirror (even though they are). But, the items I have found that I think will suit you are the Glass Accent Table ($90), the Mirrored Side Table ($90), and the Cinema Side Table ($330).
The Cinema Side Table and a few other mirrored tables, manufactured by Bailey Street, were actually just for sale on members-only sample sale site One Kings Lane. They've probably sold out by now, so it's a good idea to register and keep an eye out for similar offerings there in the future.
You should also check out your local HomeGoods for mirrored furniture pieces.
Or, if you're feeling crafty, you can DIY your own mirrored furniture.
