As the free WiFi issue hits voter ballots in San Francisco, other cities are already jumping on board. According to The Boy Genius Report, CBS has just announced its plans to offer free WiFi access in midtown Manhattan. The "CBS Mobile Zone" will cover a rectangular space from Times Square to Central Park and between 6th and 8th Avenues.

Kate Abney, an editor at Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles magazine, recently sent me a TwitPic of her fabulous sun room. I asked her if she'd send me a few more photos, and some background on her room and decorating style, and she graciously obliged.
Kate's apartment is on the second floor of a large, historic (1916) yellow-brick apartment building in the heart of midtown Atlanta.

The cast and crew of Gossip Girl were up early and on set filming yesterday morning in NYC. Blake Lively and Penn Badgley looked matchy-matchy in their white Ts, while Taylor Momsen was showing a little bit of her rock-chick side. Chace Crawford took a break from the Upper East Side to film scenes at a midtown heliport, where he was joined by new girl on the block Joanna Garcia.

Two days ago, Oprah offered her viewers a free coupon for KFC's new grilled chicken — complete with sides and biscuit. The promotion took off, and by the next day, Oprah's KFC coupons were the fifth most popular search on Google. But rather than getting recognition for offering her viewers bargain bites, Oprah's fallen under fire for the move.

It's Wedding Planning Mania time on the Sugar network, and as brides-to-be surely know — it may be one of the most stressful times they may ever experience. From planning the guest list, to deciding the registry, to choosing a location for the big day — it's almost understandable that some women go into Bridezilla mode.
But for some daredevils (or financially strapped and/or free spirits), there's a way of getting married — short of hightailing it to Vegas without telling anyone — that can turn the day into a near-spontaneous and yet memorable and poetic event.

One of my favorite things about Summer in the San Francisco Bay Area is attending California Shakespeare plays at the Bruns Amphitheatre, an insanely beautiful outdoor theater in the Siesta Valley between Berkeley and Orinda, CA. This season, the company is staging Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, and I'm totally excited about the look of the set. Set designer Neil Patel is creating an Italianesque urban landscape that, according to the play's director, John Moscone, “was initially inspired by a kind of fascist architecture in Italy.
