You can't go wrong with a standard mailbox. They're classics and go with any style of architecture. I always crack up when I see novelty mailboxes like this Siamese Cat Mailbox or this Caboose Mailbox.

There's nothing more frustrating than a late delivery (especially if it's 2 a.m. and you've got the munchies). It's easy to blame UPS or your pizza delivery person, or whoever you're waiting for, but believe it or not, you could be at fault for your own delivery woes.

I should have turned this into a guess the gadget because I never would have guessed in a million years that someone would actually take their old G4 case and turn it into a mailbox—but then again if it's just wasting space and not being used, you might as well get creative! Featured on Geekologie, this pretty sleek Apple mailbox puts traditional red mailboxes to shame. How long do you think it will last before someone tries to a) beat it with a hockey stick or b) steal it cause they think it's valuable?

I can't imagine a more flattering compliment for the ultimate geek franchise than being commemorated on a mailbox. Oh wait, geeks don't send snail mail. Regardless, 2007 is the 30th anniversary of the Star Wars release and the United States Postal Service has decided to pay homage to the series by covering select mailboxes with R2-D2 shells.

Even though some of his Eclipse costars like Rob and Kristen have left Canada for California, Xavier Samuel was still up in rainy Vancouver yesterday afternoon. After hearing the United States Postal Service has decided to pay homage to the 30th Anniversary of the Star Wars series by covering select mailboxes with R2-D2 shells I went on a hunt in San Francisco in search of pimped out mailboxes.
I searched and I searched, but it was all in vain. Luckily, msugar and her friend Anika spotted the kitschy mailboxes near their office in Oregon.

When was the last time you received a piece of snail mail that wasn't a bill, invite or subscription? As we've become more and more dependent on our portables and inboxes, our mailboxes have become less and less personal. While there are some pretty sweet online postcard services, print cards can be treasured forever — or at least they can't be deleted.

For 20 years, Elle Decor's chic issues have offered readers ideas and inspiration for their homes. I've been collecting a giant stack of dog-eared Elle Decor issues for the last 10 years, so I'm excited to announce that the best of the magazine can now be found in Style and Substance ($45) by Margaret Russell and the editors of Elle Decor. I was thrilled to receive a (personally autographed!) copy of Style and Substance in my mailbox, and couldn't wait to review the book.

If anyone can tell an uplifting fashion story, it's Barneys. The retailer established its niche as the fun-loving purveyor of high fashion long ago, and its marketing efforts mirror this. While I always smile when I find a J.Crew catalog in my mailbox, a Barneys catalog warrants an even warmer welcome.
