At a recent wine tasting, I went off in search of the snack table in between sips. I was disappointed by the lack of cheese (how can any event serve crackers and no cheese?!) but totally inspired by a colorful spread of what I'll call "vegetable cocktails."
On the table were rows of stylish, V-shaped cocktail glasses.

To celebrate the game's 75th anniversary, this Fall Hasbro will unveil a circular Monopoly board, "Monopoly: Revolution Edition." The game, which will sell for $35, will feature an electronic pod and pin credit cards to keep track of players' finances digitally — and prevent cheating! Hasbro has also adjusted monetary amounts to account for 75 years of inflation, so when you pass Go, you'll earn $2 million, instead of $200.

Never worry about having your hands full at a holiday soirée with this snap-off party plate ($8 for four). Perfect for cocktail parties, each of these 10-by-10-inch plates comes with a knife, a fork, and a spoon that detach — and reattach — onto the plate. And yes, there's a notch just for your wine glass, too.

December is a time for edible gifts, festive lights, and fabulous parties. Since I never know who may stop by my apartment on their way home from Christmas shopping or before a spirited Saturday on the town, I'm always party ready. Not only does that mean keeping my house presentably clean, but I also have the previsions on hand to throw together a quick snackable spread.
