One Living Etc reader had been looking for daybeds by Ercol, a British furniture manufacturer known for its bentwood designs, for ages and finally bought this one off of eBay for a good price. But it required a bit of work. She "sanded it all down, oiled it, replaced the webbing which had crumbled to dust."

For crafters and DIYers, a few failures are par for the course. That's part of the reason why successful DIY projects are such a coup. I've had my share of successes and failures, and I'm currently in the middle of one of my more ambitious projects ever.

As if covering your cell and iPhone with amazing handmade goods wasn't enough, I went ahead and found five adorable DSi cases on Etsy that are worthy of a look-see, and maybe even a purchase if you don't already have your console protected. That DSi was an investment, no? Might as well keep it free of scratches and dings with one of these!

When I was developing my recipe for buffalo chicken mac and cheese, I headed to the local butcher to buy chicken cutlets. The butcher said he didn't have any on hand, but could make some for me on the spot. But when I stood there watching him, I couldn't believe how easy it was!

Su Casa member PrettyLittleWorld loves her new home, but she wasn't a fan of her sun porch. She writes, "When we moved into our new home over the summer, we knew the sun porch would have to get some attention so that we could use it. The previous design was just all around unattractive, and made the porch feel a little depressing.

The hardest part about making these adorable 8-bit gourds is finding just the right pumpkins to carve! Evil Mad Scientist Laboratories the creators of this Pac-Man-carved creation, suggest finding a bagful of these decorative gourds at the grocery store — try to find one with a curvy base and a rounded one with a flat base.
And now that you've got the perfect pumpkins, here's how you should carve your pumpkins:
Gourds like these have a hard shell, about 3mm thick, that is rather hard to cut through.
