You may not know your Left Bank from your Right Bank, or have ever stepped foot on French soil, but you've probably heard of Colette, the fashion and design temple of Paris. The preeminent concept boutique hails art-loving hipsters from near and far, and regularly organizes exhibitions with both up-and-coming and established artists — including my beloved interiors photographer Todd Selby. Colette's latest exposition is MeWeCycle, a project curated by Karta Healy featuring a collection of designers’ work, based on their love of the bicycle and creative recycling.

Barbie officially celebrated her 50th birthday this week and it seems everybody is marking the occasion with fun merchandise. Paris boutique Colette has launched a whole line of items for the tiny style icon including clothing, hair accessories and home furnishings! The most extravagant has to be the Goyard trunk (€ 2880) complete with a version of the doll and extra accessories.

French design house Colette is getting in on the Lomography trend with a special edition camera adorned with blue dots, as well as a dreamy book based on the inherent romance of the Diana Dreamer titled the Dianalogues: Through a Woman's Lens.
This all makes perfect sense to me: Colette, Paris, the Diana: the romance of it all dovetails perfectly together.
Le sigh.

Beginning January 28, Colette, a design concept store in Paris, will house the "Skate Study House" exhibit, a reinterpretation of the most famous pieces of modern design through the vision of a skateboarder, created by Pierre-André Senizergues and Gil Le Bon De Lapointe. Pierre-André Senizergues is the president and CEO of Sole Technology, parent company of skate apparel fixture Etnies, and Gil Le Bon De Lapointe is a skateboarder and designer. The exhibit pays homage to Case Study House, a famous experimentation in residential architecture, which ran between 1945 until 1966, commissioning major architects of the day, including Richard Neutra, Raphael Soriano, Craig Ellwood, Charles and Ray Eames, Pierre Koenig and Eero Saarinen, "to design and build inexpensive and efficient model homes for the United States residential housing boom."

Eagle-eyed Fab Sugar UK readers will have noticed that the dress which Hannah Murray wore to the BAFTA TV Awards on Sunday, was also worn by Fearne Cotton late last year. The sparkly and feathered number is by Aussie designer Colette Dinnigan, who also dressed Kaya Scodelario for the awards show. Hannah wore her frock with grey tights and flat silver dance pumps, whilst Fearne teamed hers with thick black tights and ankle boots.

Bottega Veneta's first resort campaign left my eyes yearning for more. Sometimes a half face shot is all you need when you're as beautiful as Colette Pechekhonova. Shot by Vanity Fair's Todd Eberle, the ad evokes a clean, calm aesthetic with Colette posing in an ill Bottega Veneta blue leather trench coat.

Trend cycles are getting shorter and shorter but the military trend seems to have come back round quicker than ever. Just a few years ago (in 2005) we were all wearing cropped military jackets as seen on the catwalk at Balenciaga, and now the style returns. For Autumn 2008 military detailing appeared on the catwalk at Alexander McQueen, Temperley London and Colette Dinnigan.
