The Coco Chanel effect is felt across the fashion industry as other designers and High Street stores take influence from her iconic designs. The quilted handbag has become a wardrobe essential and it's chain handle has become iconic by itself.
The chain and leather combo has now taken on a life of it's own as its reinvented in to a belt!

Belts are one of my favourite accessories so it's rare that I'd leave the house without one. However, I don't often co-ordinate my shoes and belt as I don't like to look too matchy-matchy. How about you, do you match your belt and shoes?

Since I recently suggested you repurpose your belt buckles as frames, when I came across a belt buckle for sale used in the same way, I couldn't help but share! The Domestikate Custom Belt Buckle ($26) was originally used to hold polished rock and gemstone pieces, and it has a D-ring on its back side, so it can actually be used as a buckle or just as a decorative frame. I love its 1970s Western theme, and think it just begs for a black-and-white cowboy image inside.

A neutral belt is a key accessory. A neutral belt with a piercing, gold Fabtastic clasp is a treasure. I admit I was hesitant in sharing this Arrowhead buckle snakeskin belt, size S/M ($45) with you.

This floral cut waist belt (£35) has just hit Warehouse stores across the country. It has a very Bopo feel to it.
It would look great over a maxi dress during the Summer months, like Mary-Kate Olsen who wore a chunky waist belt to a screening of the Wackness earlier in the week.

In the last couple years, we've seen belts cinching their way up our waists. But did you ever think you'd find them covering your floor? That is, aside from in your floordrobe?

Belly dancers are known to wear over-the-top accessories, like this Gold Medallion Gypsy Belt ($14), in an effort to seduce audiences. Since I don't shake my bootie for a living, I'll pass on this look. How about you?

How many gadgets do you carry on average? Would you ever consider carrying them in a special Hipster belt like this one? After all the gadget holsters I've seen in the past year, I can honestly say that this one is the least freakish.

When did belts get so complex? Simple single buckle belts aren't copacetic for designers anymore. These multiple buckle belts are dynamic and make a statement all right.
