Roxy Nova recently posted some inspiring before and after photos of her craft room, and I absolutely love and admire this transformation. She says, "I'm very embarrassed to be posting these [photos] because my house is usually not nearly this messy, but once i decided to redo the room, everything kind of went to hell in a handbasket. it really became a dumping ground."

If I ever discover that John Lennon wrote "All You Need Is Love" about a set of patio chairs, I won't be surprised. Sometimes all a piece of furniture headed for a landfill needs is a little affection. High-Heeled Foot in the Door recently transformed her set of four dated, slightly dirty patio chairs into cheerful, stylish, and clean seating with only $41 and a little gumption.

The prospect of renovating a kitchen or bathroom is usually an expensive one. And, unfortunately, there are too many kitchens that look the one in this 1939 bungalow, bruised with dreary cabinets, cringe-inducing laminate countertops, and no sense of personal style. Luckily, one designer has proven that a few budget-friendly details and a DIY attitude are all you need to give your kitchen the fresh update it craves.

The Tyra Banks Show recently called upon one of my Designer Spotlights, Kyle Schuneman, to transform its drab and boring office into a fabulous workspace. Kyle started by painting the walls a serene blue with eco-friendly, zero-VOC paint. Then, he anchored the room with a Room and Board Parsons Desk and brought in a file cabinet with classic lines for storage.

When homeowners David and Vivian bought their brownstone, the backyard wasn't attractive in the least. A decrepit deck, falling-down retaining walls, and exposed soil made the whole space unappealing and uninhabitable. But with some gumption and planning, the husband-and-wife team took the yard from desolate to delightful.

Two weeks ago, Maebyfunke asked me for advice on painting her bedroom to match her new DwellStudio Regency Bedding. I advised her to try a soft color, such as a cool, blueish green or a warm, pale yellow.
Well, Maebyfunke made quick work of repainting her bedroom.

TeamSugar member Ashley moved into her first house seven months ago, and wanted to redecorate her bedroom to reflect her taste and personality. She decided to use Carrie Bradshaw's blue bedroom as a guide for making over the boudoir. And the best part?

Here we go again. Eddie Ross has accomplished yet another fabulous makeover. What impresses me most about Ross is his ability to see the potential in overlooked furnishings.

LA-based interior and furniture designer Jason Martin recently launched an e-decorating service called DIY+, for those "who want help with a design project but wish to complete the project on their own and in their own time." If you're willing to make the purchases on your own and put your new furnishings in place, with just a few emails and phone calls, you can essentially get the look of a full-service redesign. I was intrigued by the concept and decided to check out Martin's work, and stumbled upon quite a few drastic makeovers.
