Last year, Keep Calm and Carry On was all over the design world, from posters to rugs. I'm predicting that the phrase has reached saturation level, though, and it's time to move on to another motto to live by. May I suggest Now Panic and Freak Out ($35)?

Now that you don't have Mom under the same roof to tell you when to behave, it's often helpful to have someone, or something, to keep you on the straight and narrow. And all the better if that thing also makes your home look fantastic at the same time it's offering edifying advice. See some of my favorite ways to add words of wisdom to your casa.

Yee-Haw Industries was established by partners Kevin Bradley & Julie Belcher, who opened up shop from a back-40 barn in Corbin, Kentucky, with salvaged, antique equipment. Their vibrant, folk art, wood cut prints of country music's classic stars, such as Hank Williams, Dr. and Loretta Lynn, caught eyes and told stories. Soon, modern music acts, including Steve Earle, Lucinda Williams, and Southern Culture on the Skids began commissioning promotional posters and album art.

While movie posters stuck directly to a wall with thumbtacks will look like you're living in a college dormitory, tastefully matted and framed movie posters can look like fine art. Do you have any movie posters in your home?Photo by Pneuroic

As I've mentioned in the past, I'm a huge fan of the new CBS series The Good Wife. In particular, I adore Alicia Florrick's (Julianna Margulies) apartment. With classic styling and great use of color, it's definitely a look I'm currently coveting.

Prints by Madrid-based graphic designer and illustrator Blanca Gomez are now available at Velocity Art and Design, and I'm totally adoring them. Gomez's designs feature classically styled messieurs and mesdames accompanied by colorful balloons, raindrops, and other cheerful, child-like imagery. There's a near-stick-figure simplicity to her figures that evokes 1960s art; it's utterly charming.

I love the excitement, color, and sense of the unusual that's conveyed on vintage circus posters. These old posters, with their awesome illustrations, must've been a thrill for small-town kids, who probably waited all Summer for the big tent to set up in their town's park. While my favorite circuses today tend to not involve animals, I've always been drawn to the animal images from these circus posters.
