For some, flying a flag in front of your home is an explicit display of your national patriotism, and for others, it's simply decorative or just a social gesture. In any case, whether you fly your country's flag, a nautical one, or that of your favorite sports team, they do add a certain je ne sais quoi to your home's curb appeal. Do you fly one?

Just in time for the fireworks, the Vivre American Flag Pillow ($32, reduced from $80) can be yours for as many dollars as stars on our flag in 1858. Hopefully you like your dose of national pride in pink, because that's the only color available; I think Pop would certainly be a fan. Does anyone find it funny that this pillow is made in France?

Students protested by wearing red, white, and blue duds to school after a fellow student was punished for wearing an American flag shirt. The sophomore wore the tee, which featured a tie-dyed flag motif and the words, "United States of America, Washington, DC" on the school's "hippie day," part of their homecoming festivities. The school's assistant principle deemed the shirt a violation of the school's dress code which forbids, "shirts/blouses that promote specific races, cultures, or ethnicities."

Geri Halliwell is currently busy promoting her line of children's books across the UK, but she found some time this weekend to talk about her personal style to The Independent. Geri's most famous style moment has to be that infamous Union Jack dress at the Brit Awards in 1997. However, there's one style moment which Ginger Spice isn't so proud of, "I wish I'd never worn an American flag motif swimsuit to the MTV Awards when I was in the Spice Girls.

The first ladies of the music industry came together for VH1 Divas at Brooklyn Academy of Music in New York yesterday. Leona Lewis and Adele flew the flag for us Brits, and were joined by Whitney Port and Lauren Conrad: are you more excited for the return of The Hills or The City? Sheryl Crow and Miley Cyrus also posed in the arrivals hall, before performing together on stage.
