Drinking wine is more popular than ever, and now the oenophile trend is extending to home decor as well. Lately, I've noticed the iconic stemmed wine-glass shape is showing up in clever serving pieces — such as this Jansen + Co. Ming Oil and Vinegar Set ($28) — as well as candle holders, light fixtures, and one very cool doorbell.

Community is one of those shows where you know the cast has an awesome time together. So I wasn't all that surprised to hear stars Joel McHale (Jeff) and Ken Jeong (Senor Chang) fawn over one another when they recently sat down with reporters. I've been waiting to see these two cement their friendship on-screen too, and it sounds like I'll get my wish tonight.

Life may be better since the fall of the Berlin Wall, but is sex? It was at first. Prostitutes came in vans, porn was everywhere, and sex shops opened like wine bars in a gentrifying neighborhood.

My favorite dance scene from the 1963 Ann Margret musical Bye Bye Birdie is entitled "Lot of Livin to Do." In it, she sings of "drinking Champagne as if it were water." But, not just any Champagne — pink Champagne.

This weekend, I'm taking a day trip to beautiful Napa Valley. It's going to be scorcher, the weatherman predicted a heatwave — don't you love Indian Summers? The plan is to drive out there in the a.m., have a nice brunch, and start wine tasting.

But while a culinary extravaganza merely requires several hours of our time, it takes months or sometimes years to bring all the elements of a production together.

This week was full of exciting events. Food Network crowned its next star, Top Chef unveiled its own branded wine at the TCAs, restaurant critic Frank Bruni's successor was announced, and the highly-anticipated movie Julie & Julia opens today.
