But, one way you can have an endless Summer is to choose perennials with late-flowering habits for your garden.

I named autumn perennials one of my must-haves for September. After all, just because summer is fading fast doesn't mean you can't enjoy gazing at a colorful flower garden for a few more months.
In fact, late summer / early fall is the ideal time to plant flowers that will bloom into the cold season.

Madonna continued her work in Malawi, including a tour of the Mphandu la Orphanage with Mercy, Lourdes, David and Rocco yesterday. David looks like he's the comedian of the family making some funny faces for the cameras. Earlier this week, Madonna broke ground on her girls' school, but she still feels like there's a lot of work to be done.

It's surprising that a hardy green such as fennel is so unknown to so many home cooks, especially considering the vegetable's adaptability: Its bulb, stalks, and fronds are all completely edible, either raw or cooked, and it possesses a pleasing, mild anise flavor. Although it's a perennial, fennel can be found at a reasonable price during Autumn months. Fennel newbies can sniff it at the market for a hint of the flavor to come.

The first Lakers game of the season brought out a particularly star-studded crowd in LA last night. Perennial fans like Jack Nicholson sat alongside some other famous faces, including David Beckham and Sacha Baron Cohen. New members of the team's family, Khloe and Kim Kardashian, were right up front to cheer on Lamar Odom while people wonder how the relationship will affect his play.

Perennial party boy Vince Vaughn may be done with his bad-boy ways. In a recent interview he was quoted saying that for the first time in his life, he wants to be married and have kids.

It's been a Summer of ups and downs in Hollywood. Amidst the shocking deaths, there were a handful of beautiful weddings, births, and career highlights. Perennial favorites like Jennifer Aniston and the Jolie-Pitts were out and about while we also celebrated Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart's July reunion.

The ones who made the cut need not have one particular fashion forte — they only need perennial style. Representing Hollywood are red-carpet queens Penelope Cruz, Anne Hathaway, Reneé Zellweger, Kelly Ripa, and Alicia Keys.
