I just discovered a moth infestation in our kitchen. While I can handle a lot of creepy crawly things, finding moth worms in my nut mix is not okay. It turns out that in warmer climates, infestations like this are very common.

Heartworm preventative is on the must-have list for many pet owners. Commonly found in tropical and subtropical climates, along with the Atlantic and Gulf Coasts and Ohio and Mississippi river basins, no dog is totally safe from this parasitic infestation. Prove how much you know about the disease, and take this quiz.

If you've opened your closet and realized that your favorite cashmere sweater has holes all over it, you've probably got a moth problem. It's unlikely that the moths are attracted to just that one cardi, so there are a few steps you should take to ensure your whole wardrobe doesn't suffer the same fate. That is, unless we're talking about all those reindeer Christmas sweaters from grandma.

When I think of feathers on a wedding dress, the last image that comes to mind is that of Alana Savoir's creation at Mexico Fashion Week. Feathers are supposed to lend delicateness but in this case, they have provided extreme harshness. The dress is a bit too busy in my opinion, but what really drowns the look is the feather headpiece; it reminds me of George Washington's colonial hairstyle.

It has been reported that a common ingredient in creams, lipsticks, and lip glosses called squalene (or squalane) — a rich, oily emollient found in the liver of sharks — is going to be phased out of future productions of US and European cosmetics.
The marine conservation group Oceana has notified companies such as Unliver and L'Oréal that the population of deep-sea sharks is being threatened to obtain their liver oil. The good news is that a substitute of squalene — one that is made from olives — is less expensive and more attainable.

Mary-Louise Parker waved and smiled to the cameras outside of The Late Show studios in NYC yesterday. She's out promoting Weeds, but MLP also talked about her latest Emmy nomination, a possible bed bug infestation and a recent wardrobe malfunction — though she's not usually modest when it comes to showing some skin. Check out her cute video below.

Mommy Dearest,
My friend and I like to take our kids shopping together once a week. The children keep each other entertained, and we get a chance to gab and buy groceries or birthday gifts and necessities. But, there's one thing that makes me uncomfortable — my friend lets her 3-year-old son and 11-month-old daughter each choose or hold on to a toy while we make our way down through the store.
