Before you head to Party City to stock up on decorations for next week's spooky evening, check out Gump's, which is currently offering up to 60 percent off of its Halloween décor. Whether you're the type of gal who lays down a festive doormat and some fancy Halloween limoges boxes or just picks up some spidery cocktail napkins, Gump's has you covered. I'm loving the SF-based retailer's festive fall wreaths, which will stay en vogue long after Oct.

I can't think of a more delightful way to spend my endless Summer evenings than under the warm glow of candlelight. There are plenty of trendy ornate chandeliers out there, but I love the sophisticated simplicity of Gump's Iron Candle Chandelier ($99, reduced from $250). Who needs crystals and birds birds birds when you've got timeless, hand-forged iron and classic tapers to light up the night?

For those of you who loved the tripod base lamps in my Good, Better, Best, do I have a deal for you. While not identical in style to the tripod lamps I featured, I find this one actually preferable in several ways. The Gump's Tripod Pharmacy Lamp (on sale for $169.99, originally $455) has an antiqued-nickel finish that makes it seem like a great flea market find, and its shape, which is modeled after early 20th-century pharmacy fixtures, only enhances that impression.

Though I do bring you lovely lighting solutions day in and day out, I must apologize for being a little light on the sconces. I'd like to remedy that today by tipping you off to the Gump's Laurel Wreath Sconce ($99, reduced from $175). Its hand-wrought iron laurel boughs re-create the Laureate, a symbol of immortality, nobility, and victory in ancient Greece and Rome.

These Fabienne Jouvin Cloisonné Lidded Jars at Gump's ($175 and $250) are made by placing pieces of enameled porcelain into hand-soldered filigrees. I think the time-intensive result is lovely and ornate. What do you think?

When a design fad is derived from nature, it's more likely to stick around, and chances are high that today's tree root-inspired finds could easily become instant classics.
At once trendy and timeless, these furniture pieces and home accents are taken straight out of the woods. Some are faux bois, while others are made from natural materials.

San Francisco's very own Gump's is a divine place to find unique artwork, exotic furnishings, and all sorts of other luxurious things.
But luxurious also means pricey, so I'm all over this big summer sale going on now. Online only, Gump's is offering up to 75 percent off on hundreds of great items.

If you're a design snob like me, you're sort of picky when it comes to receiving gifts. I always thought wedding registries were cool because you can pre-select everything you want - that way even your farthest away (and, er, ill fashioned) relatives can buy you something awesome. If you need help figuring out what you'll need as young honeymooners visit YumSugar Wedding Registry 101.
