As a raised-in-the-woods hippie kid, my adult self sometimes avoids the feel-good offerings in the Gaiam catalog, but that doesn't mean I'm stubborn enough not to realize that they offer some really amazing products. They carry lovely organic silk and organic cotton bedding, sustainably harvested wood furniture, and other great household items. And now, they have an up to 75 percent off sale going on right now.

Gaiam is currently holding its Sixth Annual Sale, offering discounts between 20 and 75 percent on many home and garden items, including items for your bedroom, bathroom, and outdoor space, as well as furniture, accessories, and household items. Unless you're rolling in dough, spare seating is not something to spend a fortune on. The everyday gear should be your investment. So, it's a treat that the Gaiam Hourglass Ottoman ($60, reduced from $129) is on sale.

I recently visited my sister and had the pleasure of sitting on her Balance Ball Chair while working at my laptop (it travels with me wherever I go). Although it was a little weird at first, I got the hang of it quickly and found myself sitting with such perfect posture. I can see how, if not accustomed to sitting on a ball, your low back muscles could get tired from finally working and feel tight after sitting on the ball for hours.
