Biggest Headline of 2009: Kanye West Storms Taylor Swift's VMA Acceptance
The VMAs was memorable not for the awards, the show, or the fashion — but for Kanye West's infamous interruption of Taylor Swift's acceptance speech. He stormed the stage after Taylor won Best Female Video for her "You Belong With Me," irate over the fact that Beyonce's "Single Ladies" had lost. Beyonce, with her always great manners, welcomed Taylor back to the stage to complete her thank-you's later in the night.

It's pretty safe to say that last night's 2009 MTV VMAs were one of the most entertaining in recent history. You had your Kanye outburst, Pink's Cirque du Soleil-style act, Lady Gaga's bloody performance, and cast members from Twilight taking the stage to premiere the New Moon trailer. (And in case you didn't hear the buzz, it was also a night for Kristen Stewart to cozy up with costar Robert Pattinson backstage.) At first, it looked like Kristen had chopped her Joan Jett-esque locks, but alas, it was just the mastery of Pantene celebrity stylist Hallie Bowman, who created this edgy, faux-bowl-cut style with a modern feel.

The MTV VMAs was a party in itself, but when the show ended all the celebs spread out around town to keep the good times and red carpet highlights rolling. Lady GaGa was joined by Kristin Cavallari, Russell Brand, Jessica Alba, and Diddy for a bash at Avenue, while an Epic Records dinner at the Waverly Inn brought out Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony and Shakira. Pete Wentz hosted friends at his bar Angels & Kings, and InTouch's ICONS + IDOLS soiree gathered Kim Kardashian, Whitney Port, Gerard Butler and even Jon Gosselin.

Do, Dump, or Marry? Russell Brand
British actor and comedian Russell Brand hosted the MTV Video Music Awards last night, and although he wasn't as cheeky as he was last year, he looked a little more cleaned up.
I'm not sure what to think of this guy. Sometimes he has the right amount of scruff and charm, and at other times, I think he seems a little skeevy.
