HEALTH GUIDE REFERENCE FROM A.D.A.M Highlights Uterine Artery Embolization Versus Standard Surgery Many women with fibroids are considering a procedure called uterine artery embolization (UAE) as an alternative to standard surgery such as hysterectomy or myomectomy. A study published in 2007 in the New England Journal of Medicine compared these treatment approaches.
