The upcoming signature basketball sneakers, from Nike and Jordan Brand, have been receiving both positive and negative comments upon thearrival of detailed photos. Within the past couple of weeks, you havegiven us your two cents on the Zoom Kobe V and the Jordan CP3.III. Now, voice your opinion on the Nike KD2.
This time, Nike and Kevin Durant chose to go for a predominatelyone-tone leather as opposed to the two-tone, patent leather upper seenon the KD1. The KD2 also features a velcro strap across the midfootarea. As a nice texture contrast, this shoe possesses tumbled nubuck onthe aforementioned velcro and the section above the sole. Otherfeatures include a ribbed heel cup, the Kevin Durant logo on the velcrostrap and the word Two in the same place. What are your thoughts on the Nike KD2 compared to the Nike KD1

Nike continues to unload multiple colorways of the Nike Air Max Shoes 90 as the season comes to a close. Although the majority of them containbland colorways to coincide with the fall/winter season, some of themstill contain a springy feel.
Similar to the last Air Max 90 we showed you, this particularsneaker possesses a mixture of medium grey (mesh), black and anthraciteon the base with minimal yellow accents in the form of the Nike taglogos (tongue, side panels, heel panel). Nike Auto Force 180

The Auto Force 180 has definitely been the most positively received vulcanized Nike since the crew in Beaverton starting churning them out. From the Knicks-inspired “NYC” colorway to the most-recently-seen teal and black pair, we’ve seen some pretty creative attempts to transition inspiredcolor palettes to the hybrid silhouette. This next pair, expected inDecember, looks as though it’s taking a cue from the Nike Big Nike “Wolverine.”
Using black for the upper, both in nubuck and patent leather aroundthe mudguard, provides a nice background color for the brighter hues tojump off. Yellow is used for the “180″ and “Force” embroidery, as wellas the stripe around the white vulcanized sole. Blue is used on theSwoosh and the “hoops” design along the lace borders. DC Life Sector 7 WT & Admiral Hi WT

DC has deep roots in the skate and alternativesports community, thanks to their history of creating very skateableproducts. Having daredevils like Travis Pastrana pull stunts in your name doesn’t hurt either. With the Life label, DC’s appeal has spread to the masses, thanks in part to the Sector 7 and Admiral Hi silhouettes.
This most recent release of each design takes inspiration from thestreet (literally) by using a cement colorway. The low-top Sector 7maintains a wingtip look with perforation and small accents. TheAdmiral Hi uses matching grey mesh near the ankle to break up thematerial monotony. Both pairs are grey suede, with accents from DC’s“Pill” pattern. Both are available now online.

UNDFTD x LIVESTRONG x Nike Air Force 1 Low Supreme

Many of you have stated that the LIVESTRONG x Nike Stages Collection has been the best lineup of the year and rightfully so. Although each sneaker involved features a black/yellow color scheme, they all had their own distinctive details that made them unique. Now, the ongoing collection continues aside famed store Undefeated.
The infamous black/yellow color scheme will again show up on the Air Force 1 silhouette. However, one can easily distinguish this Undefeated-assisted pair from the Mr. Cartoon and Busy P design. This pair features a unique texture pattern from the toe box to the side panel that is very reminiscent to the Undefeated Air Force 1’s that released in 2006. In addition, the heel panel is done up in yellow leather. Other distinctive details include the LIVESTRONG tag logo on the tongue and ONYOURBIKEKID lasered-etched on the black midsole (the aforementioned Undefeated Nike Air Force 1’s featured ONYOURFEETKID). Nike Dunk High “Metallic Pack”

The easiest way to grab some attention for your sneaks Make them bright or make them shiny. This “Metallic Pack” of WMNS Dunk Highs takes a cue from each tip, draping both pairs in a metallic leather with hints of a reflective material.
Like the Air Jordan 1 “Metallic” Gold & Navy we saw last week, one pair gets treated to gold leather. The mid-panel uses a black material with reflective dots throughout is, providing a dark background for the Swoosh to work against. A gum bottom sits under a white midsole to complete the look. For the other pair, the entire upper is done up in silver, including the mid-panel, which uses a material similar to the other pair’s.
These may both be women’s pairs, but fellas who want either can always size it up 1.5 to grab them, as they’re available now.

Kicks On Court: Nash Rocks the ‘Cradle’ in Win Against Wiz

A couple of years ago, a low-cut basketball sneaker would have been the furthest thing from any basketball player’s mind due to the lack of ankle support. However, within the last year, more and more players are welcoming the low-cut, lightweight sneaker (See Kobe IV Craze) as opposed to the traditional mid or high-top sneaker. That said, check out today’s Kicks On Court which showcases the new low-cut Nike basketball sneaker endorsed by Steve Nash.
In a win against the Washington Wizards, Phoenix Suns point guard Steve Nash laced up the newly-designed Nike Cradle Rock. He has been wearing this sneaker since the season began. This particular model also owns a low-cut silhouette and possess a skate-inspired look. If you recall, Steve Nash seems to always place his feet into low-cut basketball sneakers which can be tied to his Soccer inspirations.

Jay-Z has undoubtedly made the all-black everything the fad of 2009 through his lyrics on theRun This Town song from the Blueprint 3. Therefore, if you’re out there trying to develop your all-black everything look, we have compiled an “All-Black Everything Buyers Guide” which we showed you last week. However, we left this Nike SFB Chukka off of the list due to it not being available at the time of the post.
Who else thinks this would be a perfect compliment to an all-black attire It obviously contains a couple of boot-inspired qualities including the lacing construction and the sole. Learning to Cross Stitch #2

GETTING READY TO STITCH

Working with the Thread

1. It is easier to work with shorter lengths of floss, so when you are ready to start stitching cut the floss into 18-inch lengths.

2. Separate the six-strand length of floss you'll be working with by holding one end between two fingers and pulling out one strand at a time. Pull out the required number of strands (indicated on your Design Chart Key) and lay them together.

3. If the floss becomes twisted while you are stitching, hold the fabric up and let the needle drop, it will untwist.

Working with the Fabric

1. You may want to use an embroidery hoop to keep the fabric stretched tight. However, remove the hoop when you are not stitching to prevent the fabric from getting "hoop marks".

2. Before starting, trim the edges of the fabric slightly with zigzag scissors to prevent fraying.

Preparing the Needle

To thread the needle, hold the two strands of Floss and moisten the tip into a stiff, flat point. Then glide the Floss through the eye of the needle.

Using the Design Chart

Squares - The squares on the Design Chart correspond to the squares on the fabric. Every square on the Design Chart that requires a stitch will contain a symbol.

Floss Color & Symbol Key - The Key on your Design Chart contains symbols for the stitches you will be using, and the color of floss you will use for each stitch. Each type of stitch and color of floss is represented by a different symbol.

Reading the Design Chart - The most common stitch is the cross-stitch. When the square on your Design Chart contains a large symbol taking up the full square, a full cross-stitch is required. The second most common stitch is the backstitch. Backstitches are generally used as outlining or lettering. When a square contains a straight line or dotted lines that join two corners, a backstitch is required. When there is a symbol over a square and the symbol is the same on both sides of the backstitch symbol, make a cross-stitch in that square, and then add the backstitch last.

How To Make A Cross-Stitch

1. The cross-stitch is one of the easiest and most popular embroidery stitches. Each individual cross-stitch is made up of two diagonal stitches; a bottom stitch and a top stitch that together form an X.

2. Working horizontally from left to right, stitch a row of bottom stitches. Form each stitch by bringing the needle up at 1, then down at 2, up at 3, then down at 4, etc. At the end of the row, complete the cross-stitch by crossing the bottom stitches with a row of top stitches in the opposite direction up at 9, down at 10 (same hole as 6), up at 11, down at 12 (same hole as 4), etc.

God's Embroidery

When I was a little boy, my mother used to embroider a great deal. I would sit at her knee and look up from the floor and ask what she was doing. She informed me that she was embroidering. As from the
underside I watched her work within the boundaries of the little round hoop that she held in her hand, I complained to her that it sure looked messy from where I sat.

She would smile at me, look down and gently say, "Son, you go about your playing for a while, and when I am finished with my embroidering, I will put you on my knee and let you see it from my side."

I would wonder why she was using some dark threads along with the bright ones and why they seemed so jumbled from my view. A few minutes would pass and then I would hear Mother's voice say, "Son, come and sit on my knee." This I did only to be surprised and thrilled to see a beautiful flower or a sunset. I could not believe it, because from underneath it looked so messy.

Then Mother would say to me, "My son, from underneath it did look messy and jumbled, but you did not realize that there was a pre-drawn plan on the top. It was a design. I was only following it. Now look at it from my side and you will see what I was doing."

Many times through the years I have looked up to my Heavenly Father and said, "Father, what are You doing?" He has answered, "I am embroidering your life." I say, "But it looks like a mess to me. It seems so jumbled. The threads seem so dark. Why can't they all be bright?" The Father seems to tell me, "'My child, you go about your business of doing My business, and one day I will bring you to Heaven and put you on My knee and you will see the plan from My side."
