I know that some of you who subscribe to this suite already know about my background in design, but I wanted to take it a step further and share with you the designers, artists, and architects who have made the biggest impact on my design philosophy. This will be called the "Spotlight" blog - and we're starting off with my absolute favorite designer, Barbara Barry.

Though not super high-end, Nanette Lepore has beautiful pieces and plenty of options.
I think this one should be fun, and I hope you agree! :)

I tried to pick a designer with lots of options for clothing, bags, and shoes - so let's try Michael Kors.
I think that using the Michael by MK and Kors by MK to supplement the main label will be fine, as long as everyone else agrees.

I discovered Joanna Louca on a trip to NYC last year. I was in a cool new boutique in the West Village that specialized in indie designers and one of her handbags caught my eye. It had a crafty appeal to it and looked like something one would find in Eastern Europe, like Istanbul or somewhere.

Victoria Hagan
Mainstream America became familiar with Victoria Hagan last fall when she created a line of home accessories for design-for-the-masses distributor, Target. However, she is no new comer to the design world. Named to Architectural Digest's 2006 Top 100 Designers list, she has produced timeless, elegant interiors for almost twenty years.

I apologize for being such a slacker lately! I wanted to try to do one designer spotlight a month, and I have been very remiss in my duties! Please forgive me, and allow me to explain:
Many of you know that I am an interior designer.
