For the last 3 years I've been after my husband to clear out the patio behind our garage. Little by little he's been removing his acquired stuff and we are now deeply involved in getting it ship shape.

My boyfriend will be leaving for his first tour at the end of the year and we have been avoiding the topic for a long time. Now that it is soon appraching I have taken an interest in doing everything I can to be prepared.

Perennials, annuals, and bulbs
Make sure that the canes of your climbing roses and other vining plants are securely fastened to their supports. Winter winds can whip and severely damage unprotected plants.

This quantity is enough for a turkey up to 18 pounds. For chicken, just cut the quantity down drastically. For Twinkle's roast chicken recipe, I got it down to 1/4 and still had more than I needed.

I got married in April which is hardly beach or wedding season. But that actually worked to our advantage.
