Before taking a stance on political, social, and environmental issues I always like to get informed first....so I can sound so intelligent to others (but that's just for my own ego. lol). Anyhow I thought I share what I found on msn.com regarding the myths and facts on global warning; so the next time people ask you why are you so concern about global warning you won't be lost with words or left with saying, "because i just do."

Looking hot in his hard hat, Brad is back in New Orleans working on his Global Green project in the Lower Ninth Ward. This neighborhood was completely leveled when Hurricane Katrina hit two years ago.
Angie and the rest of the fam left Chi-town yesterday, so hopefully they flew in to keep Papa Pitt company!

CANNES, France–There are no crystal decanters of blood for Robert Pattinson to sip from, or milky white virgin necks to nibble upon.
Pattinson’s treats, arrayed before him on a glass table shaped like a kneeling Greek goddess, aren’t your typical vampire fare: a bowl of potato chips, packages of green apple mint gum and a box of See’s chocolates imported from the U.S.
The world’s sexiest undead man eschews all the caloric temptations, apologizing as he nips off to another room for a few drags on a Camel Lights cigarette before commencing this interview.

Not Truthful, Just Gore
By Paul Chesser
A viral buzz is probably not something you want to have in these days of H1N1 (swine flu) paranoia.
But if you're Ann McElhinny and Phelim McAleer this week it's not a malady, but a desired condition. That's because Sunday marks the formal public introduction to their film documentary "Not Evil Just Wrong," which follows their 2006 joint effort "Mine Your Own Business."

My apologies for having nothing originally in this post. The text was here but didn't show up.
Apparently this article is too long to be printed here, at about 11 pages. It is nevertheless worth reading, unless, as someone has already done, you have made your mind up what to believe before reading.

The Sorry State of Journalism
Lessons reporters need to learn from recent fiascos like the Van Jones coverage.
September 9, 2009 - by Christian Toto
I’ve spent the last decade writing articles for daily newspapers, national magazines, and the web. But I never graduated from journalism school, a fact that haunted me for years.

The risk of a double-dip recession is rising

T he global economy is starting to bottom out from the worst recession and financial crisis since the Great Depression. In the fourth quarter of 2008 and first quarter of 2009 the rate at which most advanced economies were contracting was similar to the gross domestic product free-fall in the early stage of the Depression. Then, late last year, policymakers who had been behind the curve finally started to use most of the weapons in their arsenal.

HSBC, one of the biggest banks on the planet, has taken to calling itself "the world's local bank." Starbucks is un-branding at least three of its Seattle outlets, the first of which just reopened as "15th Avenue Coffee and Tea." Winn-Dixie, a 500-outlet supermarket chain, recently launched a new ad campaign under the tagline, "Local flavor since 1956."

It has been assumed that global warming would cause an expansion of the world's deserts, but now some scientists are predicting a contrary scenario in which water and life slowly reclaim these arid places. They think vast, dry regions like the Sahara might soon begin shrinking.
The evidence is limited and definitive conclusions are impossible to reach but recent satellite pictures of North Africa seem to show areas of the Sahara in retreat.
