This Sami Hayek Wall Clock (on sale for $19) features a wood base and rectangular strips of colors in place of numbers. I find it fresh in a retro sort of way. What about you?

While I'm definitely a peace-loving gal, I can't deny the influence that war and weaponry have had on home decor as of late. From gun vases to bullet planters, it seems as if product designers have a different definition of homeland security than our national leaders. While this may be a commentary on our society's obsession with weapons, I'm still not necessarily willing to stock my home with guns — be they real or made of ceramic.

If you were forced to add a tiger clock to your casa, which one would you choose? The Ed Hardy Crouching Tiger Wall Clock ($29.99, on left), or this Suleyman Tiger Clock ($3,600)? And no picking "Other" or "None of the Above"!

I'm not quite sure if I'm sick of the cuckoo clock trend or not, but I must admit I like the Klaus Rosburg Cuckoo Clock ($95). While there's been a proliferation of die-cut mirrors, something about the mirrored silhouette shape of a cuckoo clock against this exposed brick wall caught my eye. The ornate, three-dimensional design of traditional cuckoo clocks gives them a lively, kitschy feel, but seeing one in silhouette form made me appreciate them in a whole new way.

French designer Bertrand Planes's limited-edition Life Clock (inquire for price) isn't your average wall clock, although it may appear to be at first glance. Slowed down 61320 times, its mechanism is actually built so that one full rotation mimics the average human lifespan, and each minute represents a year. I'm certainly impressed the Planes took the time (hah) to create this, but at the same time it might be too disturbing to hang in my house.

As someone who has never owned a watch, and whose cell phone is practically glued to her hand, I never thought I'd ache for a wall clock. But for Jason Linde Handmade Wenge Veneer Clocks ($110–$130), I do. His clocks have rotating laser-engraved dials and a stationary hand, flipping the face of the traditional clock on its end.
