Community member Deemurph started to collect vintage furniture about eight months ago. She's now so hooked on bringing beautiful old pieces into her home that she created a group called Vintage Delight, as a place for you all to share your vintage finds. Found It! Ace Hotel Table

The Side by Side Suite at the new Ace Hotel in Palm Springs cultivates a moody vibe with its curtained-off, king-sized bed and vintage furniture as well as great tech products, including 42-inch flat screens, MP3 plugs, and vinyl record players.

Etsy Find: Black Lacquer Chairs

I've been finding some very cute furniture pieces lately on Etsy. From the Fruit Stripe Dresser to the Jean Pelle Vanity Cabinet, it seems as if more vendors and customers are discovering that Etsy's not just for home accessories and jewelry these days.

I love the purple exuberance of this pair of Mediterranean Chairs ($950). That eggplant hue will certainly make a statement in your living room or bedroom, though I think they'd also look fabulous in an office. Of course, I'm also attracted to their high-gloss black lacquer finish.

The clever ladies behind Spruce Home, a design studio based in Austin, TX, are responsible for these cool chairs. I'm definitely a fan of their work, and have featured it in the past. If these purple chairs aren't your style, check their Etsy store for other cool furniture finds.

Coveted Crib: Laurel's Rainbow Bright Home (Part One)

When I knocked on the door of Laurel's home, I knew I was in for a treat. Laurel, a visual artist who works in low-relief wall pieces, bought her two-bedroom, one-bath 1928 Craftsman home from her grandparents five years ago. Since then, the space has been extensively renovated and personalized. Laurel says, "I want people with really different aesthetics and visions to find some humor in my home and to be inspired by it." To come along on a colorful home tour, check out the slideshow. Crave Worthy: Paul McCobb Velvet Sofa

As I've mentioned before, I have a slight addiction to velvet furniture. This Paul McCobb velvet sofa ($5,000) is no exception. McCobb, who was known for his practical, flexible designs, worked in the US after WWII and catered to middle-class buyers, though since then his designs have been more coveted (and pricey). This vintage McCobb sofa is upholstered in a dreamy celedon hue, and features gorgeous curves, button tufting, and pretty plunging arms. I'm also rather attached to those slender legs as well. This Just In: Domino Readers' Choice Winner

I love whimsy. I love color. I love vintage design. And at heart, I am a hunter. I love finding some discarded treasure, whether it be at a flea market, estate sale or eBay. I live for a good bargain and have a keen sense of knowing the value of things. I'm not above mixing old with new, like my retro-inspired couch by Crate & Barrel. It fits perfectly with all my actual vintage furniture. To me, great design is about having a good eye for those special pieces and then knowing how to put it all together. Oh and a little about me, I am a photographer and moved from NY to Atlanta just five years ago.

Coveted Crib: Catherine's Parisian Sanctuary

Catherine from Mill Valley, CA, was recently chosen as the Domino Decorating Contest winner. A single mother, Catherine had to wait 17 years before converting two smaller bedrooms into her large master bedroom. This handy lady completed the demolition herself, then hired workers to install closets, floor, and doorways. All of the stenciling, painting, embossing, and glazing was completed by Catherine, who wanted to create "a Parisian-like sanctuary to enjoy after a long working day."

I'm so happy that Catherine was chosen as the winner-I'd been rooting for her! I love her sophisticated use of color, can-do take on home decorating, and eye for lovely details. The gorgeous bed was, according to Catherine, found at a very low price at a major department store. Originally a dark brown four-poster bed, she sawed off the posts, painted it white, and topped the corners with curtain rod finials she silver leafed.

There are 10 different blues with accents of apple greens and pinks in the bedroom.
Catherine is an admitted "color addict."
She decorates with old-fashioned roses from her garden.

Coveted Crib: Slaughterhouse Fine

A former slaughterhouse in Ulricehamn, Sweden, was transformed into this fabulous coveted crib. Outfitted with furniture and accessories from around the world, the space feels much more metropolitan than you'd expect from a rural Swedish home. An extensive collection of artwork is mixed with both vintage and modern furniture. Antique Corinthian columns mingle with an Arne Jacobsen Swan chair, worn wood surfaces with plush velvet, and IKEA with Philippe Starck, creating endless serendipitous juxtapositions. Before and After: A Vintage Chair Makeover

TeamSugar member Sgdish had a plain vanilla, and stained, vintage armchair with a great frame that was just begging for a makeover. She decided to "be bold and choose two different coordinating fabrics" for reupholstery, but used the same fabric for the chair's trim as on its backside. Etsy Finds: Antique Mirrors

These days, most trends are historically referential, be it in fashion, furniture, or even finance. But when it comes to mirrors, all the trends I've been spying as of late have been deeply rooted in the past. Think starburst mirrors, Rococo mirrors, tri-fold mirrors. So, if you're shopping for any of these, you might as well buy an antique or vintage mirror to save yourself a buck (usually) and make your mirror stand out from the crowd of big box buys. I've trolled Etsy to find a few vintage beauties for you.
