It's practically a sin not to have an online shop, and Versace is well aware of this. The luxury Italian fashion label has launched its first online store, complete with a new housewares boutique, exclusive to the US. The shop features a range of accessories and furnishings for the home, including silk cushions and duvets, crystal and porcelain gifts, fine hand-painted china, lamps, and fabric. This Just In: Versace to Design NYC Clock Tower Interiors

Donatella Versace has been contracted to redesign the interiors of Manhattan's Clock Tower Building on 5th Avenue, according to the New York Observer. Once the MetLife building, the Clock Tower is being transformed into a 55-unit condo building by international holding and investment company, Africa Israel. Rotem Rosen, the company's CEO, told the Observer that the building is shaping up to be "the highest-end residential building in New York." He said, "the whole interior design of [the Clock Tower will be] Versace, from the lobby to the spa to the restaurant designed specifically by Donatella herself. Everything inside will be 100-percent Versace design." The building's restaurant club will be the world's first designed specifically by Donatella, and the rest of the building will be designed by the Versace Group.There's more to learn about this luxe megaplex, so read more.

The units have yet to be sold (or constructed) but Africa Israel is expecting a lot of excitement from Russians, who make up a lot their client base and love Versace as well as "top celebrities." Aside from Donatella Versace herself and her daughter, he declined to comment on which celebrities had plans to live there, but he did say, "To give you an idea we connected with Versace through Guy Oseary." Guy Oseary is the CEO of Maverick Records and a talent manager, whose clients include Madonna, Lenny Kravitz, Katharine McPhee, and Alex Rodriguez.

According to Reuters, "Africa Israel paid $200 million for the Clock Tower building last year," and the "completed complex is expected to be worth about $1 billion." The penthouse alone will be over 10,700 square feet. Yowsers! Tell me, would you like your pad to be designed by Versace?

This Just In: Versace's Beloved Lake Como Villa to Be Sold

Rumor has it, according to Real Estalker, Gianni Versace's beloved Villa Fontanelle in Maltrasio, Lake Como, Italy, the scene of years of glamorous, celebrity-ridden parties, is finally being sold by the Versace clan. There was talk at one point by WWD that the villa would be purchased by a business partner of the fashion house, but The Times reports that filthy rich Russian restaurateur Arkady Novikov is buying the property for $52.3 million. He has apparently bid nearly six million over the asking price, in order to secure it as he gets his finances in order. Hard knock life, huh? The early 19th century villa was originally purchased in total shambles in 1977 by Versace and required serious renovations, including millions spent on creating interiors "consistent with the house's neoclassic architectural style." According to Real Estalker:

The house is also said to feature a massive and spectacular Russian crystal chandelier that once hung in a palace in St. Petersburg, truckloads of Empire era furniture, lots of urns sitting around and plaster medallions depicting Roman emperors stuck to the walls, bathrooms bathed in red marble, original paintings from the late 1700s, insanely intricate plaster detailing, and hundreds of neoclassical objects d'art.

It's sad to see the property change hands, but with George Clooney living nearby, I'm sure Lake Como has enough stars to maintain its glam rep.

Crave Worthy: Versace Home Greek Key Lamp

I never really thought to look at the Versace Home Collection. In fact, I've been somewhat avoiding it because I figured it might be tacky, New Jersey mafia style, and I've seen enough of that in my lifetime. Thanks to a suggestion from GIOVS, though, I made my way over to the site and was pleasantly surprised at how many good-looking pieces they sell.

I'm loving their selection of Greek key-patterned lamps, particularly this Dedalo Mini ceramic table lamp. I think the oversize, rectangular lampshade is very sleek and professional looking, and would look great in a home office. (I'm really craving it though, so I'd probably keep it close by at my bedside.) The price tag on this beauty was nowhere to be found, but I suspect it's a small fortune.
