Last night, I was disappointed to see that HBO ran a previously aired episode of True Blood. Watching this show, from Alan Ball, who also created Six Feet Under, is definitely a guilty pleasure. Tara Thornton, played by actress Rutina Wesley, is one of my favorite characters on the show. She's been taken under the wing of Maryann (Michelle Forbes), who's been adding some Greek mythology to the already fantastical set.

While I have my suspicions about Maryann's intentions, I must admit that her house is totally crave worthy, as are her fabulous breakfast spreads. I love the casually elegant al fresco breakfast setting here. Hurricane lamps are a must-have item for outdoor meals, as the tall glass cylinders will protect candles from flickering out. While a light source isn't needed for an outdoor breakfast, the hurricanes add to the elegance of the setting.

New Season of True Blood - It Hurts So Good

The Authentic Look of HBO's True Blood

Although True Blood has had an uneven first season (the finale was last night), I'll still be tuning in next year. I have to find out what happens with my favorite characters, and I can't wait to see how the plot develops. One element of the show that I really enjoy is its authentic look, which is crafted by the nimble art and set direction of Bill Law and Catherine Smith. Filmed in Los Angeles and Shreveport, LA, the show's set design embraces small-town Southern style that is imbued with a creepy dread. Source

True to her Midwest Modern aesthetic, Butler's five new bedding designs are fresh, modern, nature-inspired, and colorful (think lime, blood orange, and canary blue), with a nod to Eastern design seen in her intricate patterns. The eco-friendly collection will include 100 percent certified-organic comforters, duvets, shams, decorative pillows, and 400-thread-count percale sheets. The style of some celebrity digs, like Mickey Rourke's opulent Hollywood home, come as a surprise, deviating sharply from someone's public persona. Others are so predictable it's laughable. Patrick Dempsey's 3,841-square-foot, four-bedroom, five-and-a-half bath Holmby Hills pad, which was just listed for $3.6 million, definitely falls into the latter category. From his classic wardrobe choices to his affinity for timeless cars, the Maine native exudes a sort of conservative, blue-blooded je ne sais quoi. So, it comes as no surprise that he purchased a traditional New England-style home with classic details and impeccable landscaping. When he moved to LA, he didn't make a baller buy like Matthew Perry, but chose an understated family home - complete with a tree house! - that's true to his East Coast roots.
