Desire/Acquire: Rubie Green Tillinghast Fabric

Don't get me wrong: I absolutely adore Rubie Green textiles. But the label's stylish and eco-conscious fabrics are not exactly wallet-conscious. This cheerful, Chippendale-esque Tillinghast fabric goes for $90 a yard. It's true, there are fabrics much more expensive. But this price tag adds up when you're ordering drapes for every window in your living room, or covering the whole canvas of a chair, and then you pay your upholsterer. Luckily, I know one fabric with a similar sunny yellow trellis pattern to save you some dimes. Want to see it?

Guess Who Designed This Wall Art?

I spotted this image in the portfolio of New Zealand-based photographer Emily Andrews and I love the way the silvery grays of the wall art play off of the rich patina of the industrial chairs. And the gray cat, too! The wall art is made from stretched fabric by a very famous textile company. Can you name the company?

Inspired: Time For Tweed

I passed by the Knoll store this morning and saw a Saarinen Executive Chair upholstered in a rich, wintry tweed sitting in the window. Then, I got my computer up and running and saw this smart J. Crew Wool Tweed Oona Coat ($550). Then it dawned on me: it's Fall. I'm not really one to redecorate with the seasons, but I do like the idea of introducing this textured, graphic material into my home. Roundup: Burlap Bonanza

I'm really loving the look of burlap lately. Not only does it have a quaint, understated look, but the natural material juxtaposes really nicely with all the glossy, modern things I'm drawn to. It also balances the punch of bright colors well, such as the turquoise cross on this Wisteria Nautical Signal Flag Pillow ($69). Lilly Pulitzer to Debut Bedding Line For Garnet Hill

Palm Beach prep is coming home. Pink and green queen Lilly Pulitzer will debut a new home goods collection for Garnet Hill in January. The line will include bedding and bath accessories in her signature happy chic colors. Bedding designs will include "Truly Lilly, " "Classic Lilly," and "Trend Lilly" with sheets, quilts, comforter covers, shams, pillow covers, coverlets, and bedskirts. The bath designs will include a shower curtain in starfruit yellow; Chinoiserie towels in hibiscus pink, starfruit yellow and surf blue; a Chinoiserie tufted bath rug in hibiscus pink, starfruit yellow and surf blue, and a juice stand shower curtain in turquoise.

This isn't the first time Lilly has entered the interiors business. The company has had other bedding collections, but they've ceased production. From this sneak peek image of the collection, it seems to be much more contemporary. And the quilting is beautiful!

When my aunt was growing up, she bought a stack of quilting fabric squares from her local Lilly shop in Palm Beach and sewed her very own Lilly Pulitzer quilt. To this day, she still owns it and I've always been covetous. I guess now she won't be the only one with a Palm Beach princess bedroom.

Casa Quickie: Try Curtains Outdoors

With so many great outdoor fabrics on the market (including Trina Turk's), there's no reason not to bring textiles into your outdoor space. I think outdoor curtains are supremely chic. More importantly, they offer shade, as well as protection from breeze. There are plenty of colors and patterns to choose from for your outdoor space. I think there's something really regal and sophisticated about solid white, though. It's so ethereal, and it's definitely a classic. Have you considered hanging curtains outdoors?
