When I spotted this photo of tennis player Ana Ivanovic of Serbia, who was playing at the Kremlin Cup, I was struck by its beautiful striped pattern. Of course, stripes are innately sporty. They show up on basketball jerseys, on the lines painted onto tracks, and on the racing silks of jockeys.
Cool Idea: Painted Stripes Headboard
I've written about painted headboards before (and even DIY'd my own), so it's really nothing new. But, I am loving how design firm Shelton, Mindel & Associates made the entire wall behind this sleeping space a focal point with bold stripes, and within that created a focal point above the headboard by painting stripes in a slightly lighter shade than the rest. This look is really easy and affordable to achieve in your own home.

It was pretty unanimous that Fab's readers loved Nicole Richie in stripes at DKNY's Fashion Week show, and I am no exception to the pack. I loved how she pulled off the bold stripes by keeping things minimal. And, how the smartly balanced small and large stripes were mimicked by her suede caged shoes.
