As for me, when it comes to birds, I'd prefer not to have a squawking animal in my home, but I do love birdcages used as décor. The Time Traveler's Wife isn't the best book adaptation ever, but I am in love with the interiors in this magical romance. Every character inhabits seriously to-die-for digs; I only wish there were more photos available! I recommend seeing the movie if only for the rooms, and until then, get a taste — and get the look.

Unless they've got their own set of interior design skills like Julianne Moore, many celebrities hire experts to dress their coveted cribs to the nines. Since hiring a professional interior designer isn't in the budget for all of us plebes, we may as well take a look at the homes of the rich and famous and see what design ideas we can't steal.

If you saw Part I of this slideshow (The Loft Suite), you know I was recently invited to tour the new Ace Hotel in New York. I've always been a fan of the boutique hotel chain's vintage industrial aesthetic, but I particularly loved the prep school/university library feel of Ace NY's lobby. Tall ceilings, original floor tiling, old wooden tables, giant columns, cozy, quiet seating, and a well-bound collection of dusty books made me feel like I'd stepped into a scene from School Ties — although Matt Damon was nowhere to be found.

Maybe it's just me, but I've always felt a sense of solidarity with the cities I've lived in and their inhabitants.
