I think the overlapping accent rugs in this kid's room, shot by Swedish photographer Ulrika Ekblom, work because the effect is playful and relaxed, just how every youngster's room should be. I've seen overlapping rugs used in more adult settings before and I'm not universally sold on it. You?

My husband and I just finished installing Algonquin Cork Flooring in our foyer, living room, and dining room on the first floor of our house. When he first brought it home, I didn't like the style, but now that it's down, it's so great! The problem is our rugs.

A rug is a wonderful thing, but it also comes with the hassle of spot-cleaning when you spill. And unless you choose a low-pile rug, you may be faced the headaches of shedding. Instead, go with parquet flooring or try stenciling your wood or concrete floors.

Su Casa member Kimpossible recently bought a new outdoor living set for her back patio from Walmart. It's a great set, with such warm colors, ideal for Summer entertaining. She says, "I have plans to either buy an outdoor rug for the set or paint one on the concrete if I can't find one reasonably priced."

It's hard to think that cringe-inducing, deep-pile shag, a preferred venue for making whoopee in the '70s, could make a comeback in our homes, but it has.
