While flipping through the latest Free People catalog, my eye wasn't drawn to the clothes. Instead, I couldn't stop looking at this graceful wrought iron bed frame. The dual color tones here, with the gold on the interior of the headboard, and the rest of the frame covered in white, create a lovely effect.

I love how utterly romantic this image is. It's straight out of a romantic foreign film. Practically, though, I'd worry about fire hazards associated with having candles within kicking distance.

There's something so ethereal and romantic about a curtained bed. However, I just don't think it's practical at my house. Would it work in yours?

After I rearranged my bedroom recently, a friend of mine said with a wink, "Oh, so the mirror's facing the bed." I hadn't even thought about that arrangement until she called it out. While my boudoir is a bit too small to try to keep the bed out of full-length mirror's view, there are many couples who find it advantageous to "reflect" on events in this room.

If you're a fan of Shakespearean romance (without, you know, the death and deception), then consider heading to Verona to get married on the same balcony where Juliet supposedly lived. The balcony is located on the second floor of the supposed 14th-century Casa di Giulietta (home of Juliet) in Verona, Italy. While Italian folklore claims that the balcony was part of the home of the Renaissance-era Cappellos (supposedly the family portrayed in William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet as the Capulets), there is no solid evidence to confirm this claim.

Your bedroom should be a sanctuary, and for most of us, that means decorating it to fit our needs and personal tastes. Most of us see our bedrooms as a place to relax, unwind, and seek a little romance. With those needs in mind, I've put together two different looks using a color palette of red, white, and black.

I recently rearranged and prettified my gardening work area. While it's nowhere near as romantic and lovely as this photo, I can say that just having a clean, organized, and pretty area to repot plants and start seeds makes me even more motivated to get outside and garden. Do you find that "prettying" your work space, whether it's inside or outside, has the same effect on you?

I admit it: I have a slight obsession with daybeds, and this Canopy Daybed with Trundle (originally $1,229, on sale for $999), is absolutely no exception. This looks like the bed I want to sleep in when I visit some well-to-do distant maiden aunt's country home on a breezy summer weekend. I'd snuggle up, pull the canopy curtains, and plunge into a dog-eared copy of one of my Jane Austen novels.

Such throwback romanticism may not be everyone's bag, but I'm really loving this Briar Hill antiqued bed ($399, marked down from $999). The beautiful antiqued-brown finish is contrasted by delicate handpainted floral accents. The bed features a gently scalloped design on headboards and footboards and is constructed of sturdy Asian hardwood and veneers.

Romantic comedies may get a bad rap for cheesy, predictable plots, but I must hand it to them for triumphing when it comes to set design. Ready to see a few of my favorite romantic comedy interiors? Here we go!
