According to Real Estalker, Richard Gere has put his four-bedroom, four-bath property in the Palazzo Chupi building in New York's West Village on the market for nearly $18 million. You may remember the building, which was designed by Julian Schnabel of directorial fame, from my recent Coveted Crib. Schnabel is said to have "created the apartment to feel like Venice in Manhattan."

Not a progressive rock band, a Richard Gere flick, or a group of birds in flight, flocking is actually a type of texture that's applied to a surface. You recognize it most from Baroque and Victorian wallpapers, which were "flocked" to give them a velour texture. While you'll still see this effect on contemporary wallpapers, the typically damask patterns have left an imprint on other home furnishings as well.
