Nice and New: Letterpress Peacock Poster

Sycamore Street Press should be proud as a peacock of its Fancy Seeing You Here Print ($30). As you can see, pairing one of nature's most glamorous birds with one of the most luxurious styles of printing is a recipe for success. A vintage Vandercook letterpress is used to hand-crank these ornately designed posters one at a time and one color at a time, giving them a texture as gorgeous as a peacock's plumage. Top that with flirty typography and two keen color choices and I'm sold.

Nice and New: Orb 5 by Carlo Van de Roer

You may have heard of 20x200, an online retailer of limited-edition prints at affordable prices ranging from $20 to $200 (based on size), begun by New York gallerist Jen Bekman. The site, which sells works by both up-and-coming and established artists, gives nearly everyone the ability to afford good art. For that in itself, they deserve a pat on the back. Now, with new prints by Carlo Van de Roer, 20x200 is taking its benevolence to the next level. Van de Roer's Orb 5 (Long Island, NY) is offered as a new kind of benefit edition. All the profits from sales of the print return directly to Van de Roer, to fund his critically acclaimed (and quite expensive) Portrait Machine Project. Orb 5 is available as an 11-by-14, 16-by-20, or 24-by-30 archival pigment print. It's beautiful, don't you think? If you like this one, you'll also like Orb 3, which pairs wonderfully with this print.

Nice and New: Blanca Gomez at Velocity

Prints by Madrid-based graphic designer and illustrator Blanca Gomez are now available at Velocity Art and Design, and I'm totally adoring them. Gomez's designs feature classically styled messieurs and mesdames accompanied by colorful balloons, raindrops, and other cheerful, child-like imagery. There's a near-stick-figure simplicity to her figures that evokes 1960s art; it's utterly charming. I'm loving this Monsieur print - the seafoam clouds, the shapely raindrops, the fedora: I can almost hear him singing, "Alouette, gentille alouette, alouette, je te plumerai." Etsy Find: Blue Icicles

From Etsy seller YumiYumi, the print is signed, numbered, dated, and shipped in a flat mailer. I think the print would look lovely as part of a whimsical-bird motif in some grouped frames, don't you? Great Art Online: Tree Factory by Amy Ruppel

Every month, the good folks over at Reform School work one on one with some of their favorite artists in a collaboration called "Student of the Month." This collaboration features work from talented artists and designers and offers new and limited-edition goods from an ever-changing list of artists.

One recent offering is Tree Factory by Amy Ruppel ($35.00). This limited-edition print will appeal to all of you bird enthusiasts out there, not only because it features a cute feathered friend, but because 5 percent of the proceeds from the print will be notated to Amy's charity of choice, the American Bird Conservancy. "Tree Factory" is printed at Pinball Publishing on postconsumer recycled paper with soy-based inks, measures 11-x-14 inches, and is signed and numbered.

Birdcages print ($22) by Traci Edwards is, according to the artist, "inspired by The Birds, Victorian ghost stories, I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings, and the little parakeet my great-aunt had during my early childhood."

This print measures 11" x 14" with a one inch border. It is printed on white archival matte paper and signed and dated by the artist.
