I have to say, I'm a little in love with this silk upholstered Simone Paisley Sofa ($4,999). I doubt that I could pull off such a bold design in my home, but I do think that a pretty paisley can really liven up a room, whether it's used in a throw or a pillow.

Why so sad, Eli Stone? You look so handsome on your paisley throw. So good, in fact, you reminded me of how much I love the droplet-shaped veggie motif.

FabSugar recently issued a Trend Alert on modern patchwork in fashion. I've been noticing this same trend in the home world as well. Since it's easy to err on the side of hippie excess, I advise starting slowly with this trend, and then gradually adding more accessories if you like the way patchwork or paisley accents update your home.

I like the idea behind this Delia's Paisley Rug ($48), which would be great for a dorm room. But I think the execution — particularly the color palette — is sorely lacking.

London-based luxury fabric and wall-covering company Designers Guild is hands down one of my favorite retailers of home décor of all time. If you're in the market for indulgent, feminine, colorful, and sophisticated textiles, DG is the answer. I'm always particularly won over by the retailer's stunning collection of throw pillows ("cushions"), made from luxurious cut velvets and sumptuous silks, with delicate and unique embroideries.

Hi Casa,
I was hoping you could help me with my dilemma. I fell in love with this quilt from Urban Outfitters. I'm a college student, and in a month I'm moving into a house that I'm renting myself, so money is really tight and I was hoping to find something inexpensive.

Interested in a throw that's a step above the ordinary? Then try the Y&L blanQuette, a lightweight blanket resembling an oversize plush Turkish towel. Made of 50 percent organic cotton and 50 percent bamboo, the blanQuette measures in at a generous six-and-a-half by almost five feet wide.

While Beehive Kitchenware Company does make measuring cups and lemon juicers, their range of fanciful metal accents ensures that you can use them in any room of your home. I have my eyes on Beehive's Paisley Hooks ($27) myself, though there are plenty of other pieces that have enchanted me. The company, which is located in Massachusetts, is owned and operated by Jim Dowd and Sandra Bonazoli.

With seven bedrooms, this Swedish villa is heavy on space, but light on color. A recurring feature of the home is a quiet, white base that's livened up with cheerful accent colors. In this bedroom, black and white Ralph Lauren wallpaper, paisley bed linens, and a fur comforter are given a soft punch of color with red toile Manuel Canovas pillows.

The Cabana Qulit ($128-$168, on sale $74-$108) from Garnet Hill is hand-quilted and printed with bright botanicals in Pink Rose, Blue Branch, Yellow Floral, or Green Dot Paisley patterns. The matching shams are also on sale. They would work with both traditional and modern décors, and could be a cool punch of color with simple white sheets, or a creative kick along with mismatching patterned linens.
