In this scene from Tyler Perry's new movie I Can Do Bad All by Myself, I was struck by the great use of pattern in the curtains in this loft apartment. Not only are the two different patterns complementary, but the differing weights of the curtains also works out well. The more sheer curtains can be used for privacy during the day, while still letting sunlight filter in.

OK, I may have had an irrational love for the 1966 Michelangelo Antonioni film Blow-Up (starring Vanessa Redgrave, Sarah Miles, and David Hemmings) since I was in the womb, but I am not alone in my love for the mod Brit film's killer poster. It often tops lists of the world's greatest and most iconic posters (see here and here), written by cinephiles and design fiends alike, and for good reason. The original 1966 Italian design is the one most fawned over, but there are actually several variations, almost all featuring a sexy model and her photographer.

The Box, the new thriller from Donnie Darko director Richard Kelly, tells the story of a financially troubled married couple who receive a box containing a button. The next morning, a creepy mysterious stranger tells them that they will receive $1 million if they push the button, but someone in the world will die. The movie, which is based on a short story by Richard Matheson, is set in Richmond, VA, in the year 1976, so there's plenty of fun, funky styling to the set.

While movie posters stuck directly to a wall with thumbtacks will look like you're living in a college dormitory, tastefully matted and framed movie posters can look like fine art. Do you have any movie posters in your home?Photo by Pneuroic

As many of you already know, when I'm watching movies, my eye is constantly trained on the interiors and exteriors to see what ideas I can borrow or adapt for CasaSugar readers. So, since we're heading into a long holiday weekend here in the US, I figured that I should entertain you with some all-American movies whose exteriors inspire me.

Have you been the victim of a haunting? More people than you'd think can relate a ghostly encounter in the dark hall of an old home. Interest in haunted houses never fades; we've been telling ghost stories for thousands of years, and ghosts keep popping up in literature and movies as well.

Writer Nick Hornby's movie An Education chronicles the coming-of-age story of a teenage girl in 1960s suburban London, whose life is affected by the arrival of a playboy nearly twice her age. With a great cast including Carey Mulligan, Peter Sarsgaard, Emma Thompson, Alfred Molina, and Rosamund Pike, the movie features fab set design and gorgeous dresses. Check it out in theaters this Friday, but for now, see how you can translate Mulligan's gorgeous dresses to your home.

New York, I Love You, which is one of BuzzSugar's Fall Romantic Movie Picks, looks atmospheric and lovely, and boasts a great cast, including Ethan Hawke, Scarlett Johansson, Shia LaBeouf, and Orlando Bloom. In this scene, Emilie Ohana peers out of her open window. I used to love to sit in my windowsill like this, when I lived in a walk-up apartment.
